Women and the environment

Created in 2006 by Danièle Kapel-Marcovici, under the auspices of the French foundation, the RAJA-Danièle Marcovici Foundation promotes solidarity projects in favour of women, to improve their living conditions, as they are the first victims of violence, injustice and poverty throughout the world.

The actions they promote have 3 main

points

• Defend women’s rights, prevent and fight against injustice and violence against women.
• Educate, train and promote their integration into the labour market to ensure their empowerment, emancipation and financial autonomy.
• Tohelp women victims of inequality and social exclusion, facilitating their social reintegration.

one of the actions currently being carried out is called Women and the Environment, which doubly helps women around the world and encourages the purchase of products that help the environment.

Actions programme: “Women and the Environment”

In September 2015, the Women and the Environment actions programme was launched to support solidarity projects through associations around the world. The aim is to finance 5 solidarity projects of the RAJA-Danièle Marcovici Foundation

• Bolivia Inti Sud Soleil – Peru: Promote solar cooking to encourage women’s energy autonomy and support them in the development of their economic activity.
• Rejoué – France: They develop a system for recycling used toys managed by women in reintegration, for subsequent sale at solidarity prices.
• Envol Vert – Colombia: Training women in agroforestry techniques to develop their income, contribute to the regeneration of biodiversity in the Sierra Nevada and guarantee food security for the population.
• Re-Belle – France: They fight against food waste by transforming unsold fruit and vegetables into artisanal jams, within the framework of women’s integration.
• Bolivia Inti Sud Solil – Bolivia: Strengthening women’s autonomy through training in solar drying technology, production and marketing of dried fruit and vegetables.

How to take part in the programme?

Until 28 February 2018, for each purchase made from our selection of 13 eco-responsible products, Rajapack will donate 1 or 2€ to finance 5 solidarity projects in favour of women and the environment.La selection of eco-responsible productspara esta operación son 100% reciclables.

Se fabrican a partir de fuentes renovables (cartón o papel) o están compuestos, total o parcialmente, de material reciclado. De este modo, permiten ahorrar materias primas y reducir el volumen de residuos. Gracias al proceso de reciclado de papel y cartón, estos productos, una vez utilizados, podrán reciclarse para dar vida a nuevos productos.

En la selección de productos hay diferentes categorías: cajas de cartón, sobres, bolsas de papel, cintas adhesivas, etiquetas, papel kraft, gavetas de cartón, papel de secado, vasos de cartón y palets de fibra.

Balance del programa

Los datos recogidos el pasado 31 de mayo nos indican que ya se han recaudado en la Foundation RAJA-Danièle Marcovici: 6’8M€ destinados a 360 proyectos cofinanciados, 228 asociaciones sostenidas, 78.000 mujeres de 50 paises beneficiadas.

• Every €10 buys 1 gardening kit: watering can, rake and wheelbarrow
• For every 10€ you can train 3 eco-responsible children
• Every 10€ can buy 20 bags of organic fertiliser
