Trucks and vans move tons and tons of products every day on the road network of our country and, for this process to be completed without incident, it is essential to carry out a correct load securing or lashing.

The securing of goods inside vehicles responds to three objectives:

• Avoid uncontrolled displacement of bales during movement, an event that could destabilise driving and lead to traffic accidents.
• Preserve the integrity of the goods, safe from shocks, friction and vibrations.
• Minimise risks for transporters and operators involved in the logistics chain.

Load lashing techniques: lashing and blocking

There are two load lashing techniques to immobilise goods inside lorries: lashing and blocking.

• Securing loads by lashing is based on the use of elements such as straps, belts and chains to exert vertical pressure, towards the ground, on the objects. With this method, it is recommended to place non-slip mats to reduce friction.
• The securing of loads by blocking uses systems such as dunnage bars or inflatable bags to keep the products in place. Blocking neutralises empty spaces and leaves no room for manoeuvre for the bales to move.

Profiles and corners	Profiles and corner protectors prevent goods from being damaged by the pressure of straps, cables, chains and strapping used for lashing. Discover the different models of corner and corner protectors in cardboard and plastic, as well as cardboard or foam protection profiles.
Cardboard separators	The cardboard dividersmake layered stacking on pallets more efficient, as they create a stable, slip-proof surface for the arrangement of the products on the top level. Even if the goods are slightly tilted, the items will not fall.
Adhesive foam plugs	The foam adhesive blocksprovide more secure load restraint, both horizontally and vertically, either to separate boxes from each other or inside boxes to combat shifting.
Wooden pallet fences	The folding wooden fencescan be placed on a pallet that acts as a base. Lids can be added to configure different levels of horizontal separation between goods. They give palletisation extra strength for lashing, ideal for long distances or for handling heavy or bulky goods.
