Planeta Huerto and how to improve the picking area [RAJA® Customers].

In our Testimonials section today is the turn of Planeta Huerto: an e-commerce dedicated to healthy, environmentally friendly and sustainable products that is constantly growing. Its catalogue is made up, on the one hand, of organic supermarket products (food, cosmetics, dietetics, drugstore, cleaning…) and on the other hand, of products related to the garden, the garden, the home and DIY (do it yourself). Its slogan defines it very well: “Cultivate your life”.

Planeta Huerto operates both in Spain and Portugal, with around one and a half million monthly visits, more than 400,000 customers and serves around 30,000 orders per month.

We visited Planeta Huerto 2 years ago, and they have welcomed us again on the occasion of their new facilities. Alfonso Sánchez, one of the co-founders, told us about the close relationship with RAJA® since the origins of the company:

Logistics plays a fundamental role for Planeta Huerto

The growth of Planeta Huerto has motivated the recent move to new facilities in Sant Vicent del Raspeig (Alicante). 5.000m2 warehouse houses the 35.000 references they work with.

As for any e-commerce, logistics plays a fundamental role for Planeta Huerto, because the user experience is key and delivering the order on time and correctly is essential. Of course, this requires efficient and effective logistics.

Francisco Madrid, Logistics Director of Planeta Huerto, tells us how Planeta Huerto has been advised by RAJA® and 16 packing stations have been installed with all the necessary elements to improve the order preparation area and make it more ergonomic and effective.

A well organised packing station is more efficient and allows you to save time, and if it is designed according to ergonomic criteria, the operator can easily access all his work tools with minimum effort and avoiding unnecessary movements.

In addition, at Planeta Huerto, FillPak paper filling systems have been installed, thanks to which the level of transport incidents has been reduced.

Planeta Huerto is a company committed to the environment and its logistics activity and packaging also seek to reduce environmental impact. For example, the picking boxes on the shelves in its warehouse are made of cardboard, and are made to measure by RAJA® to optimise every centimetre of the warehouse.

When necessary, to fill the empty spaces inside the boxes they use 100% recycled and recyclable crumpled paper.

Planeta Huerto follows the methodology of continuous improvement with the constant rethinking of its logistic processes and counts on RAJA® for new projects and packaging solutions.
