In Spain, the Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (Aesan) of the Ministry of Consumer Affairs is the body responsible for communicating the legal guidelines governing the use of food contact materials. The EU-wide ban on single-use plastics, which will become a reality in Spain in 2023, should also be taken into account.
