At Rajapack we are experts in packaging and that is why we know that in different parts of Spain the names of the different elements used in packaging differ greatly. Because although it may seem simple, the world of packaging is as wide as we can imagine

. • Strapping: Strapping is hard plastic tape that wraps packages and prevents them from opening. Although they were originally made of metal, nowadays they are usually made of polyester or polypropylene, especially in light packaging. Strapping also means “a lot” in the Canary Islands, being used as a synonym in any situation: “it is hot strapping”, “it is heavy strapping”, etc. In mainland Spain, strapping is sometimes called flanges, clamps or even plastic tape. In Mexico, strapping is called zuncha. At Rajapack we have a wide catalogue of strapping and accessories to make strapping easier.

  • Cutters: Cutters have a large number of additional names without any one prevailing over another, which is helped by the wide variety of models that can be found. In any corner of Spain we can hear many of these names: stiletto, scalpel, scalpel, scissors, exacto, cardboard cutter, paper cutter, model knife, box cutter or cardboard knife, among many others. However, none of these names has achieved the acceptance of cutter which, without doubt, is the most used name. In Rajapack you can find a wide variety of cutters, scissors and knives.

  • Filler: Finally, we will talk about fillers, a basic packaging that suffers from the opposite problem. The polysemy of the word makes it necessary to contextualize to know if we are talking about television, gastronomy or even a landfill -called in some regions sanitary landfills- among others. Probably if there were other words to refer to it beyond the specific type: wood chips, cork or brown paper, among others, it would be much simpler. Enter this link and discover the different types of fillers that Rajapack provides.
