Fans of comics and merchandising are very demanding and expect to receive their precious objects in optimum conditions, so a business of this type must rely on packaging material that offers quality and reliability.

At MilComics, a shop specialising in comics and collectibles, they know this and are aware of the care that their customers’ purchases require. That is why they have been relying on RAJA® for more than 10 years.

Its CEO, Gonzalo González Verdoy, welcomes us to explain why our services are so important in this shop, which started as a small online shop and which, today, is a reference in this sector, with two physical sales spaces, more than 20,000 references and between 2,500 and 5,000 monthly shipments.

If we look at your online shop, you have a great diversity of products in different shapes and sizes. What is the process of choosing the best packaging in each case?

It is not enough to assemble a cardboard box, put some products inside and give it a door so that the transport company can take it. It has to be well protected. But the choice is very simple, we go to your website, we see what we like, we click and, if not, we call you. It’s that easy!

You have to take into account that we don’t always send comics or figures that can be stacked perfectly because they are all the same. That would be our dream and that of our packagers. The problem is that many customers ask us for four comics that have to be perfectly protected so that they don’t bend, a poster that has to stay in its shipping tube, four different figures… In short, this is where the variety of packaging provided by RAJA® really comes in handy.

And with this diversity of products, how do you fill the box and how do you immobilise the items?

I know sustainability is important to you. You have gone from using polypropylene tape to the gummed band, made from paper and 100% vegetable-based glue.

We’re doing that little bit for sustainability, trying to be a little bit greener. In addition, this tape holds better, is stronger and does not have the noise that some polypropylene tapes make. So it’s all advantages.

We have been working together for more than 10 years, what would you highlight about our relationship during this time? What benefits do you find in a type of business like yours, which is a physical retail shop and also an online shop?

The ease. We want something for the shop, we want something for the website… It’s a comprehensive service. We need some price stickers… Well, that’s where RAJA® is. We want some envelopes for the shop’s gift comics… There’s RAJA®. We want a new type of cardboard that exists and RAJA® has it… It’s practically that, you click on the web and you have it. I have a question and I don’t know what to ask, I call you. It’s simplicity. We were lucky enough to stumble upon you very early on our path, almost at the beginning of our journey, and we are not going to let you go.
