Dogfy Diet was born in 2019 with the intention of revolutionising the pet food sector after reaching a conclusion: at home, people are more concerned about their diet, but 90% of dogs are still fed on fodder. At a time when dogs are no longer considered just as companion animals, but as a member of the family, Dogfy Diet emerged as a business model willing to extend food care to the canine world. The idea originated in the United States and is based on the sale of cooked pet food through a subscription system. In fact, Dogfy Diet jokingly describes itself as the “Netflix of personalised dog food”.
To do this, they use an algorithm that analyses the dog’s data, such as its age, breed, weight, pathologies and activity. From there, they create a personalised diet of daily meals from four menus: turkey, chicken, salmon and beef. After a 14-day trial, the transition from feed to cooked food begins. After that, the cooked food is delivered to the home every month.
In 2022, the company had a turnover of 11 million euros and its aim for 2023 is to reach 27 million euros. They produce around 15 tonnes of food per day, which is equivalent to around 50,000 sachets, and have 30,000 customers in Spain, France and Italy, for whom they deliver around 40,000 sachets per month.
RAJA® has been working with Dogfy Diet since 2020 and its CEO and co-founder, Gonzalo Noy, tells us about their expansion plans in Europe and the importance of our services for the delivery of perishable food products that require special conditions.
“It is very important to us that the customer receives the food in perfect condition the next day before noon so as not to break the cold chain.

What marketing strategies are you using and what are your main challenges?
Mostly, everything is online, we run campaigns on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and with influencers. In Spain we ran a campaign on TV3 and now we are starting to do TV on Atresmedia. And in terms of challenges, we want to continue expanding in Europe. We are now in Italy, France and Spain, and we would like to open up Portugal and Germany and start growing.
Tell us, how do you ship, as it is a perishable product, and how important is the packaging for logistics?
We ship with a conventional cardboard box. We don’t use polystyrene for reasons of ecology and sustainability. Then we put in your WrapPak Protector paper which, as well as offering protection, blocking and support, also acts as a thermal insulator to prevent the food from defrosting; and then two cold accumulators, which keep the food even more frozen. And that’s it.

With that, we ship everything and, obviously, the packaging is a challenge, because it is also very important to us that the customer receives the food in perfect condition so as not to break the cold chain, with the next day before noon as the deadline.
We have installed nine WrapPak paper machines, what benefits have they brought you?
Before, we were working with an isothermal material that contained a lot of plastic. It also had a problem, which was that we could not stack it correctly. That meant a lot of costs in terms of storage.
Thanks to the RAJA® machines and the WrapPak paper, we have made savings in economic terms; in terms of storage it is much easier to be able to supply all the growth we are experiencing; and, above all, we have improved in terms of ecology and sustainability.

We have been working together since 2020, what can you highlight about the relationship with RAJA®?
It is not easy to find a supplier with whom we can have such a close, personalised relationship, both in terms of assistance and commercially. Also, it is a partner that helps us to grow and expand at a European level. And that is very important, because it is not easy to find a supplier that has a widespread capillarity in almost all of Europe. And, above all, in terms of products; because we are working with you with many items, but you also have a very large portfolio and that reassures us for future needs that may arise.
So, would you recommend RAJA® to other companies?
Yes, of course, and we have already done so.
Thank you, Gonzalo, for dedicating your time to us. See you soon.
Thank you, my pleasure.
