what is Alveolar Film?

As a curiosity, it was created by accident by engineers Alfred Fielding and Marc Chavannes in the year 1957, they were trying to create a 3-dimensional paper to put on walls and ended up giving it a packaging use in their new company Sealed Air Corporation, thus replacing the newspaper that previously did this function. It is used to protect, cushion and wedge products, either by wrapping them or inside boxes and containers and is also known as bubble wrap. Its general benefits are

¿Cuál es la composición del Film Alveolar?

Su composición principal es polietileno de baja densidad, puede ser reciclado y reutilizado.

Tiene un aspecto incoloro, pero se utiliza el color verde para diferenciar el film alveolar reciclado y el color rojo para el antiestático. Es un material que carece de olor.

Su punto de fusión es aproximadamente a los 105ºC y su temperatura de ignición es a los 350-400ºC. Es un material soluble en hidrocarburos aromáticos calientes y clorados. A pesar de que es un material estable en condiciones de manipulación y almacenamientos hay que evitar el calor excesivo debido a que podría deformarse.
