Adhesive tapes, tips for use

2min read 03/10/2013

As important as choosing the right adhesive tape to close your boxes, it is also important to apply it correctly. In this post we give you a few tips so that the result is as good as possible and we also tell you how to store your adhesive tapes correctly.

APPLICATION

For best results, we recommend applying the adhesive in an environment with a temperature above 10ºC and on a clean, dry surface. If the surface does not have these conditions, the adhesive will deteriorate easily.

  • Cintas adhesivas aplicaciónFor the pVC adhesive tapesit is better to use the sealer with the brake completely loosened.
  • for the silent polypropylene adhesive tapes(acrylic glue), apply light pressure on the tape, taking care not to stretch it. Use the tape sealer with the brake completely loosened.
  • For the polypropylene adhesive tapesit is essential to avoid stretching the roll as, if you do so, you risk the tape coming unstretched when trying to recover its original length.

STORAGE TIPS:

Depending on how long the adhesive tapes will be stored for, it is advisable to take certain measures. Here are some tips:

  • Cintas adhesivas almacenamientoWe recommend storing the adhesive tapes for a maximum of 6 months at a temperature between 18 and 25°C. However, if this is not possible, it is always advisable to place the adhesive tapes in a warm place 24 hours before use.
  • Silent polypropylene adhesive tape (acrylic glue) has the advantage that it can be stored for 1 year without alterations.
  • Gummed tape and hot melt glue sticks can always be stored away from cold and dust for several years without risk of deterioration.
