Slovaks love shopping online more and more. This is evidenced by the 20% year-on-year increase in sales on e-shops, which means a record turnover of 1.36 billion euros in 2019. There are currently around 13,000 e-shops in Slovakia. The largest share is held by electronics, which continues to grow and expand their product portfolios, and the competition between them is growing. The aim of every e-shop should be to reach customers by the packaging alone. Because it is the packaging and the merchandise inside that is the only physical contact between the e-shop and the customer. We have a few types that are guaranteed to be a success with customers!
1.
Find the right packaging to suit you
clearly differentiates you
Durable, practical and attractive – immediate identification of the company is important. It is necessary to remember – do I have an e-shop with luxury goods? Do I have an e-shop with organic cosmetics? Then the packaging itself and its aesthetics should look accordingly.
2. Bet on ecology
Ecology is an important value not only for companies but also for end customers. Don’t be afraid to show your customers that you are environmentally friendly and show it through your packaging. At RAJA, we have many eco-friendly packaging alternatives that clearly appeal to customers.

3. Correct packaging dimension saves postage costs
But don’t forget about the right size of the box. If you’re shipping products of different sizes, opt for boxes with adjustable height. Because of the empty space inside the box, you pay higher shipping costs.
4. Simplify your claims
Clothing e-shops, but not only those, deal with complaints every day. So how can you make it easier for customers to return goods? Boxes with double-stick tape and perforating thread are the ideal solution. The customer opens the box with the perforating thread after delivery – this way the boxes don’t have to be cut anywhere. But unfortunately the goods do not meet expectations, are broken or the shoes simply do not fit. The customer just puts the goods back in the box and reseals them with a second adhesive strip.
5. select a suitable filler and fix the goods
In order to ensure the safety of the goods being transported, it is necessary to think about which fixing and filling material to choose and what role it plays inside the packaging:
– Empty space filler
– Protecting the surface of the goods
– Antistatic effect
– Shock absorption
We must not forget about the presentation of the goods. Are you familiar with Geami WrapPak? Kraft paper protects the goods from damage and tissue paper adds elegance again.
6. Proper closure of the packaging
We have the goods inside the box, secured with the right fixing material, and we can close the packaging. For different heavy boxes, we recommend to choose the correct adhesive tape as well. Up to 20 kg, PP adhesive tape is sufficient. Above 30 kg we recommend a strong PVC tape. Printed adhesive tapes are also an option, which will again give your brand good visibility.
7. Label your shipments well
This is the last detail, but a very important one. The label with the customer’s delivery details is an obvious one, but don’t forget the carrier’s instructions either. Thanks to warning labels, you will prevent damage to the goods.
8. Last details
- You already know from us that printed packaging is an essential element of effective business presentation. But don’t forget to give the customer some added value too. We recommend a few little things that can appeal to the customer and simply make them feel better about shopping at your e-shop:
– Product Samples
– Thank you card and discount on your next purchase
– Brochure, catalogue
– Invoice or complaint report presented in a fun way
That’s it! Your packaging will no longer be overlooked. And if you want to keep improving your packaging, stay tuned.
