The main difference between stretch film and eco-friendly stretch film is mainly the composition of the materials from which each is made. However, both do a great job in protecting stored products or during transport. Therefore, we will explain how stretch film works and how you should choose between the two.

The difference between stretch film and eco-friendly stretch film

So, what is the difference between stretch film and eco-friendly stretch film? Stretch film is used to wrap products and packaging, protecting them during storage or transport. In this way, the aim is to hold them together and protect them against water, dust and dirt. In this sense, ecological stretch film is therefore an ecological version of stretch film. It is flexible and elastic, as it adapts to the most diverse formats. When wrapping the product (boxes, pallets, among others), the stretch film remains static.

So, what is the difference between stretch film and ecological stretch film? We will explain each one, that is: what they are made of and how they can be used.

Stretch film is essentially a polyethylene film on a roll, which can be wrapped around boxes or pallets, holding them together. The material is elastic, so as you are wrapping the product, it will stretch as it is applied. In addition, stretch film is available in different widths, different roll sizes and in different thicknesses. It also comes in different colours.

The hand stretch film is highly resistant and very elastic. It is therefore resistant to tearing and punctures. It comes in rolls 450 or 500 mm wide and is shiny and transparent: the contents of your pallets remain visible and identifiable. It is also quick to unwind: it has a self-adhering inner side for everyday use.

Mini Roll of stretch film

Stretch film is also available as a mini-roll, ideal for grouping, tying, holding or protecting smaller products. It can be removed without leaving any residue and without damaging fragile surfaces. It can be extended up to 3 times its length. At the same time, it is easy to use and simple to apply. Its inner side is self-adherent.Not all stretch films need to be applied by hand. For larger jobs, there are several pallet wrapping machines available that can do this process. Also, if you want to hide the contents of the products it is a good idea to use a coloured stretch film. Eco-friendly stretch film

Ecological stretch film fulfils exactly the same role as stretch film. The difference is that it is made from recycled materials. It is therefore a great ecological alternative. The manual cast stretch film is made from 80% recycled materials. It is suitable for uniform pallets and holds pallet loads without sagging during transport and storage. It is easy and quiet to unwind. It comes in two different models: translucent green for better visibility and opaque black to ensure privacy. It has a 50 mm mandrel.

To help apply the eco-friendly stretch film on larger pallets that are sensitive to compression, there are also several wrap-around machines. The standard model handbrake wrapper is sturdy as it offers a high-strength steel turntable. It is also very reliable as it is 100% made from components that are produced in Europe. It offers you a constant and professional baling quality and is able to wrap up to 50 pallets a day.
