You’ve certainly taken care of safe transport for your holidays. But have you made the same effort when it comes to securing your goods?
If someone is going on a trip, they are concerned not only with possible accommodation, but also with getting to their destination safely. Ensuring comfortable transport is extremely important. The same principle should also apply to goods sent to customers – after all, the trader wants the shipped goods to be delivered intact. So what do you need to pay attention to when packing and shipping an order?
Preparation of the goods
The first step is of course to prepare the goods properly for packing. First of all, the goods should be carefully inspected again (this applies especially to larger items) – whether it is undamaged or whether it contains all the parts.
If this is the case, the goods can be prepared for packing. The best way to do this is to use bubble wrap and carton sealers. The goods should be wrapped gently with foil, so that the foil itself is not damaged, and small pieces of tape should be used to prevent the goods from slipping out of the foil during transport.
It is worth remembering that the goods should be tightly wrapped in foil; otherwise, if there is too much space between the item being sent and the bubble foil, it is pointless to secure the goods in this way.
Bubble wrap
Why is bubble wrap so important? Mainly because of its special structure – this is what prevents possible breakages during transport and also protects the goods from shocks and vibrations that are inherent in transporting goods.
It is also worth remembering that bubble wrap protects the goods from dust, moisture and humidity. This is particularly important when shipping electronics. In addition, entrepreneurs should be aware of the fact that customers nowadays simply expect goods to be well protected with, among other things, foil.
In this way, they are confident that the trader has done everything to properly prepare the goods for shipment and that their relationship with the customer does not end when they collect the money for the purchased item. This approach on the part of the trader also increases the chance that the customer – enthused by the level of service – will return to the company in question for future purchases.

Another way to transport goods safely? Box fillers
In addition to wrapping the goods in bubble wrap, it is also worth taking care of box fillers. These can take the form of, for example, air-filled mats and cushions. Box fillers prevent the goods from moving around in the box during transport.
To ensure the safe transport of goods, remember that wrapping an item in bubble wrap protects the goods from abrasion, breakage or moisture, but if the item being shipped is packed into a much larger box, it will still be vulnerable to damage during major shocks.

On the other hand, when packing the goods, care can also be taken to ensure that the box matches the dimensions of the goods as closely as possible. The BOXSELECTOR box size selector is the perfect solution here, as it enables you to quickly and easily find the right box format. This type of packaging is best suited to goods with non-standard dimensions.
Don’t forget the right labelling
There is one more thing to bear in mind when preparing goods for shipment. If the item is extremely fragile or prone to breakage (a good example would be crockery, especially glass or porcelain), the box should be additionally marked. Another thing is that it is almost always worthwhile to take an extra moment to mark packages – so that the courier can assess which parcels need to be additionally secured. For their own convenience, entrepreneurs usually choose self-adhesive labels for this purpose. Some of these only contain graphics, suggesting that the parcel should be handled with extreme care. Others (white or multi-coloured) are ready to be filled in themselves.

Proper packaging of the goods minimises the risk of damage. Customers appreciate this!
Entrepreneurs should realise that the time spent preparing a consignment is also time spent on the customer himself. Customers appreciate it when they receive not only good quality, but also properly protected goods. This also demonstrates the seller’s professionalism and encourages repeat purchases.
