2min read 07/09/2017

RAJAPACK line of eco-friendly materials was awarded in the fourth edition of the competition Raw Material Efficient Entrepreneur 2015. Filler FLOPak GREEN, cardboard angles i INKA wooden mini pallets received a special award in the EKO-HIT Product category.

The mission of the Raw Material Efficient Entrepreneur competition is to promote a pro-ecological approach to business by pointing out good practices and technological solutions awarded in the EKO-HIT Product and EKO-HIT Service categories. The International Chapter also identifies examples of environmentally disadvantageous activities by awarding the title EKO-HIT.

Consumer choice

Participation of companies in the competition is initiated by Internet users, reporting via a website their candidates standing out on the market with environmentally-friendly products or services. Subsequently, the companies nominated by consumers are submitted to the International Competition Jury, which selects 6 winning companies. During this year’s fourth deliberation, the Jury decided to award a special prize to the RAJAPACK company in the EKO-HIT Product category.

The fact that the RAJAPACK ecological product line was appreciated first by consumers and then by industry experts is a great reason for us to be happy, as it holds a special position in our offer. The ecological line is manufactured from 100% renewable raw materials, coming wholly or partly from recycled materials. As a result, they can be subjected to environmentally friendly disposal methods after use.

We are convinced that, in the area of ecology and corporate social responsibility, a switch to using environmentally friendly materials instead of single-use plastic packaging can have the greatest effect first. We try to convince companies of this throughout Europe, wherever the RAJA Group operates. One example is the recently finalised RAJA-Danièle Marcovici Foundation ‘Women and the Environment’ campaign.

As part of this initiative, for six months all subsidiaries, including Poland, donated a portion of the profits from each sale of organic products to 5 associations supporting women living in India, Togo, Mozambique, Cuba and Myanmar. The15 European companies of the RAJA Group collectively raised €420,000,” says Jaroslaw Kaminski, Managing Director of RAJAPACK Poland.

The diploma ceremony took place in Łódź at the end of the two-day 6th International Recovery Logistics Conference, whose theme was: “Recovery and recycling of packaging waste in Poland – legal, economic and organisational aspects”.

The 2015 Raw Material Efficient Entrepreneur competition is organised by Eko Cykl Organizacja Odzysku Opakowań S.A.. The winners of previous editions were brands such as Polpharma, Tchibo, DPD Polska.
