Order in the warehouse with storage boxes and containers
In any warehouse, it is particularly important to keep things tidy. Storage space should be well organised, so that there is more space and employees can work more efficiently. Keeping order is made possible above all by using the right storage containers. Proper organisation of the storage space not only ensures order in itself, but also creates safe working conditions and enables the warehouse to function efficiently.
Organisation of storage space
The correct arrangement of the storage space is crucial for all processes taking place in the warehouse and its efficiency depends on it. In Japan, a method was invented to keep the workplace tidy, which is also applicable to the organisation of the warehouse. This is the 5S method, or selection, systematisation, cleaning, standardisation and self-discipline. Selection is about getting rid of the items that are unnecessary at work, systematics is about ensuring that the space is organised in such a way that everything needed to complete a sentence is always readily available, cleaning is about keeping the workplace clean, standardisation is about carrying out activities that consolidate the rules introduced, and self-discipline is about following the rules introduced. The correct organisation of the warehouse is the second S of this method (systematisation).
A well-equipped warehouse is one in which all the elements required for work can be found, i.e.: storage furniture such as packing tables, work tables, storage racks, packaging machines and accessories (sealing foil sleeves, adhesive tapes, cords, tools), warehouse trolleys and pallet trucks for transporting goods, wooden pallets and accessories for palletisation.
Storage in the warehouse – transport and storage containers
Every warehouse needs special storage containers – plastic, cardboard and aluminium boxes. They are used for storing and transporting goods. RAJA offers a wide range of storage containers and crates to suit different needs. These include storage and transport containers, drawers with dividers, Euro containers, folding plastic containers and boxes for the segregation and storage of documents.
In the RAJA shop you can find the following types of storage containers:
-
cardboard containers
These are containers without a lid for easy identification of the contents, with a field for description on the front panel. They are sturdy as they are made of three-layer cardboard covered with Kraft paper. The front side is lower, making these containers easy to carry.
-
plastic storage containers
The plastic containers are made of glossy polypropylene, so they are robust and durable – resistant to crushing, grease, acid and temperature changes. They are stackable and available in a choice of 2 colours.
-
cellular polypropylene containers
This type of container is very robust because it is made from strong polypropylene with a cellular structure – resistant to water, grease, chemicals, crushing, breaking, shock and temperature changes. These containers are very roomy – the lower height of the front side makes use of the inner surface and facilitates handling.
-
multi-purpose transparent containers
This type of container is versatile. It is suitable for stacking thanks to its flat bottom. It is equipped with ergonomic carrying handles. Thanks to the fact that it is transparent, identifying the contents is not a problem.
-
Euro plastic containers
These containers are ideally suited to other Euro boxes for palletisation. They are easy to handle thanks to the handles, and are suitable for stacking. They are spacious and very robust – made of polypropylene.
-
Schoeller Allibert transport boxes
They are very practical stacking and transport containers. Their stacking strength is up to 160 kg. They are equipped with a lid protecting them from dust, dirt, mechanical damage and theft. They are ideal for palletising. They are easy to move thanks to their ergonomic handles. They have a flat bottom, so they can be used on conveyor belts and automatic conveyors. They have space for an adhesive label to identify the contents. They are very strong and robust – able to withstand very large temperature changes.
-
transport bins with coloured lids
The containers are stackable and nestable, and can be closed with seals that guarantee effective security. They can be labelled for content identification. They are fitted with coloured, practical lids.
-
plastic containers with perforated lid
This type is suitable for compact and stable stacking, and is ideal for palletising in accordance with European standards, while being robust and resistant to major temperature changes. It is approved for contact with food and fats.
