New system for the production of organic fillers

To ensure that a parcel reaches its addressee in perfect condition, it is often necessary to protect the items being sent with a filler. Therefore, it is best if the shop is equipped with a special system for the self-manufacturing of fillers. This is an excellent solution from both an economic and ecological point of view, as only as much filler as required is produced.
Air parcel fillers and bubble wrap are most frequently used to fill empty spaces in parcels and protect the goods being shipped. Their task is to protect the goods, also against shocks occurring during transport, and to stabilise them inside the parcel. If a shop is equipped with a system for the production of fillers, then the entire packaging process is much more efficient, as well as more economical and ecological.
Air packet fillers
In the RAJA shop, ready-made air-filled pillows are available. They contain as much as 99 per cent air and only 1 per cent film, and are therefore environmentally friendly, but with a high strength. They are great for protecting the products being shipped. They keep the packaging clean and do not come out when opened. They are packaged in practical boxes with a dispenser for easy packing. They are made of polyethylene film in the form of a chain of cushions. The cushions are separated by perforations to make them easier to use.
These types of air parcel fillers can be manufactured yourself, using the RAJA AIR filler machine. In this case, you only need to purchase the film for the air filler equipment. This is a protective, shock-resistant film used to wrap goods and stabilise them in the parcel. It is very practical – it has perforations for easy separation of the cushions. It is also very lightweight, as the cushions are filled with 99% air and the material is only 1%. This saves space in storage.
Three types of film are available from RAJA – hdpe polyethylene film, film made from 50% recycled material and film made from 35% natural raw materials. The hdpe polyethylene film is recyclable, 1 roll of it is 4.2m3 of filling. The film consisting of 50% recycled film and 50% hdpe polyethylene is recyclable and its carbon footprint is 100% neutral. 1 roll of individual cushions is as much as 5.4m3 of filling. The most environmentally friendly film is one composed of 35% potato starch and 65% PBAT biodegradable polymer – it complies with EN 13432. 1 roll of individual cushions equals 3m3 of filling.
A bubble wrap is also used to protect the goods from shocks. It is waterproof and very strong. It can have small or large bubbles depending on your needs. Bubble wrap pouches are also available. They are used to protect glass and other fragile objects, books, white and brown goods, electronics, and furniture. It can also be used to protect the inside of cardboard boxes. Bubble wrap is very strong, flexible, shock-resistant, scratch-resistant, weather-resistant, dirt-resistant and moisture-resistant.
Air-filled parcel equipment
A novelty in the RAJA offer is equipment for the production of air packet fillers. This is the most practical and complete solution on the market. These are versatile machines that produce air cushions and mats with small or large bubbles. They start up and heat up very quickly, so such a device is ready to use in a few moments. They are compact and quiet and can be easily integrated into any packaging station. They are programmable via Bluetooth. Additional accessories such as pedals, a container, a maintenance kit or an integrated extendable stabiliser for wide rolls are available on request. RAJA also offers a wide range of consumables. The equipment is available on a 24-hour basis. The warranty is provided for one year.
The shop offers two types of these machines – air 1 and air 2. The air parcel filler machine air 1 produces up to 10 m of fill per minute, is equipped with a digital display and has a capacity of up to 300 parcels per day with low demand. The air 2 air packet filler, on the other hand, produces up to 20 m of fill per minute, has an intuitive touchscreen display (very easy to use), and has a capacity with medium to high demand of 500 to 1,500 packets per day.
The filling machine is ideal for large shops, as it only produces the amount of filling that is actually needed. It is therefore a very ecological and economical solution.
