How to prepare for a move – cardboard boxes and removal accessories.
The moving season is about to begin. If you’re looking to relocate in the near future, it’s important to prepare well. It’s a good idea to think about buying removal boxes now and start planning.
Of course, you can move all year round, but there is a time when moving is more common – autumn. Moving to a new property can be stressful, but it doesn’t have to be. How do you prepare properly? Certainly, you should buy moving boxes and pack them, but that’s not all. Here are some moving tips.
How to prepare for a move?
First of all, you should make an inventory of all your belongings. You should also determine what you will take to your new place and what you will not. Get rid of unnecessary items (you can sell them, give them away or throw them away). It is a good idea to take stock at the same time so that you do not take things and clothes with you that you no longer use. It is also necessary to choose a removal company and make an appointment to transport your belongings. You can also move yourself by hiring a removal van. This only involves transporting your belongings and carrying them in, but you have to pack everything yourself and secure it properly. This is not the responsibility of the removal company and they are therefore not responsible for any damage to your belongings in transit. It is therefore necessary to obtain removal boxes and other packing accessories.
How many removal boxes to buy? It is assumed that the transport of belongings from a two-room flat requires the preparation of approximately 20 cardboard boxes and 20 strong bags. You will also need to buy bubble wrap or foam to protect fragile items. Suitcases and travel bags can be used to pack clothes, and special wardrobe removal boxes can be used for those that crumple easily.
All boxes need to be labelled carefully so that you know what is in them. Important! The weight of a single box should not exceed 25 kg. You shouldn’t mix things together, as this kind of mess will make unpacking and arranging in the new place more difficult. It is a good idea to make an inventory of the boxes and assign them to specific rooms.
When should you start packing? It is best to start packing about two weeks before you plan to move. Pack the things you need least first. Pack the things you will use every day last. It is also a good idea to have a bag ready with the most essential items so that you don’t have to look for them in boxes. If you prepare well for the move, it will certainly be less stressful and it will be easy to find and unpack all your belongings.
