Corrugated board – types
Among the most commonly used raw materials are the following types of corrugated board:
1) 2-ply corrugated cardboard – is an environmentally friendly material that is completely biodegradable and has many uses in everyday life. It is readily used by courier companies, but also in warehouses and wholesalers.
2) 3-ply cardboard – is based on two layers of paper and a corrugated layer in the middle. It is used for the production of dividers, which are useful for packing fragile and delicate objects, such as tableware, glasses, bottles or vases. However, the possibilities of its use do not end there. It is widely used in the construction industry not only as a protective element, but also as an acoustic and thermal insulator, as an underlay separating a concrete screed from a laminate or tile floor laid on top of it.
In this category we can distinguish:
- B-wave cardboard – its thickness ranges from 2.5 to 3.0 mm;
- C-wave cardboard – the height of the wave, i.e. the thickness of the cardboard ranges from 3.0 to 3.7 mm;
- E-wave cardboard, also known as microwave cardboard, with a thickness of 1.1 to 1.7 mm.

Corrugated cardboard – applications
