There are usually environmentally friendly alternatives to standard packaging. Choosing packaging with the environment in mind can give you a head start on your competitors. Environmentally friendly alternatives to bubble wrap:

Many net shops use bubble wrap, also known as bubble wrap. This is understandable, as it provides good protection while being flexible and versatile, but it is made of non-degradable plastic. It is therefore positive that there are alternatives that minimise the climate impact:

Recycled bubble wrap has the same good properties as regular bubble wrap, but is made from 50% recycled material. This does not mean that we avoid plastic, but that we reduce the overall climate impact because recycled resources are used to make the bubble wrap
Kraft paper is a great alternative for protection. It is made from 100% pure and unbleached kraft paper, and is FSC certified. Kraft paper is also practical, as it can be used for both packing and wrapping.
Flo-Pak® Natural, also known as packing chips, is an environmentally friendly variant made from biodegradable corn starch. This is broken down by water and leaves no toxic waste. Traditional packing chips have received some criticism as it is a filling material that can be difficult to handle. The environmentally friendly variant is easy to break down and is therefore a much better alternative.
Eco-friendly air bags are another innovative product among the eco-friendly alternatives. Air bags are made using an air-purge machine and are a filling material that many online stores have adopted. Air bags are produced on demand, and can streamline and optimise packaging processes. We have two eco-friendly alternatives in air bags: paper air bags and recycled plastic air bags. Both are good alternatives.

Green alternatives to e-commerce bags:

These bags are the net shop’s best friend. They take up less space in the warehouse than cardboard bags and reduce shipping costs because the material is lighter and takes up less space. E-commerce bags are a perfect solution for you who ship products like clothing or other textiles that don’t need as much packing and protection. Since e-commerce bags are usually made of plastic, we recommend choosing environmentally friendly alternatives. RAJA offers both kraft paper e-commerce bags or recycled plastic e-commerce bags, which are great solutions for the environment.

Environmentally friendly alternatives to packaging tape:

When closing and sealing packages, most people use plastic packaging tape. This is probably due to old habits. But here it is easy to make an environmentally friendly choice without compromising quality. Paper packaging tape gives packages a natural look and is very practical: the tape can be recycled with the packaging so you don’t have to remove the tape before delivering the ash for recycling. In fact, paper tape is in many cases more cost-effective than plastic tape. Paper tape is strong and often sticks better than plastic tape to recycled ash.

RAJA’s own paper tape is made of environmentally friendly, 60 g silicone-free kraft paper with natural rubber adhesive. In standard quality, it is used to seal boxes weighing up to 20 kg. The paper tape can be easily used with a table dispenser or hand dispenser with brake. The range also includes strong tape for medium-weight boxes, reinforced tape for boxes up to 75 kg and masking tape. Another environmentally friendly alternative is rubberised paper tape, which provides an extra effective seal. This tape is used with a dispenser that moistens the tape and activates the adhesive. When the wet self-adhesive tape is removed, the surface is damaged and an unauthorised opening is immediately revealed. This prevents waste during transport.
