RAJA’s commitment to women and the environment

This week marks Sustainable Development Week across Europe. Join RAJA in contributing to sustainable development!

In RAJA we have our own fund, founded on the initiative of Danièle Kapel Marcovici, CEO of RAJA Group. The fund supports projects that work to strengthen the role and emancipation of women in society, both in France and worldwide.

The Fund’s main priorities:

The Foundation partners with French and international organisations working to empower women and improve their lives. The Foundation supports projects in four areas:

1. Women and the environment
2. Labour market and job training
3. Education and social action
4. Women’s rights and the fight against violence

The aim is to help women become more self-sufficient, support their families and find their place in society by undergoing vocational training and finding work or starting their own business. Since its establishment in 2006, the Foundation has supported projects that help improve the lives of women around the world, and here are the key figures after 15 years:

• 304 associationshas been supported in France and around 55 other countries
• 100 000 women have been protected, assisted and trained
• More than 10 million euroshas been donated to various organisations

How can our customers support these projects?

In collaboration with our suppliers, RAJA has selected a number of environmentally friendly products that support the Women and Environment programme. Until 28.02.2022, for every purchase of one of the selected products, 10 kr will be donated to support the 6 selected projects in the programme. Read more and see the campaign products here

«RAJA er først og fremst en historie om kvinner … en historie som startet i 1954, for mer enn 60 år siden. RAJA eksisterer takket være Rachel Marcovici, min mor, som kjempet for å bygge opp en virksomhet i en svært mannsdominert verden av distribusjon av emballasje og lagerutstyr.Jeg tok over og fortsatte å lede RAJA gjennom å bygge inn i selskapet sterke verdier som solidaritet, respekt og likestilling. Jeg har alltid vært overbevist om at selskapets rolle ikke bare er økonomisk, men også sosial og samfunnsmessig. Dette, sammen med RAJAs suksess, er årsaken til at vi i 2006 opprettet RAJA-Danièle Marcovici Foundation. Siden dette har hele RAJA-gruppen og foreningene vi støtter mobilisert til dette arbeidet. Mange rettigheter gjenstår å vinne, og vi vil fortsette kampen for kvinners rettigheter så lenge det finnes ulikhet og vold.»
