Pack and protect with airputer

6min read 27/03/2019

If you have a business that packs and ships goods on a daily basis, you’re probably often faced with the same requirements as the rest of the packaging world: automate and optimize! But how does that work in practice? Part of the solution for many is to implement machines that produce air pockets, which provide protection in the packaging process. This is guaranteed to provide better protection for your products and make packing faster.

Challenges with filling material

If you run your own business or part of a small business, one of your challenges may be that you either don’t have a warehouse or that warehouse space is very limited. If that’s the case, you also know that package filling and protection takes up space. Just think of how much bubble wrap, paper strips, package chips and the like take up space. That’s where machines that produce protection come in. They create material for dust absorption, wrapping and filling quickly and easily just when you need it. That means you don’t have to buy prefabricated protection that will sit in your warehouse and take up space.

The packaging materials used for these packers, whether plastic or paper, are usually supplied on compact rolls. In addition to using less storage space, the reduced volume also has the benefit of lowering delivery costs for your business.

We have previously described the advantages of paper protection and the machines you can use to produce parcel filling. In this post, we look at machines for the more traditional parcel protection, namely air bags.

Air bubble machines are often relatively small and therefore do not take up much space in the warehouse. As the name suggests, they produce air bubbles and bubble wrap for the protection and locking of products, in addition they are extremely simple to use. You can simply put a roll on the machine, select the appropriate settings and the machine is ready to produce.
One of the main advantages of air bubbles and bubble wrap is the weight. They consist almost only of air and especially for postal shipments every gram counts.

Your daily packaging needs will define which air purging machine you should evaluate. Fortunately, there are many good and tailor-made solutions. We take a closer look at some of the models we believe are the best on the market and cover the most needs.

Mini Pak’R

With a Mini Pak’R you produce your own airputer and are therefore less dependent on suppliers while saving both time and storage space.

The Mini Pak’R table-top model is the most compact air purge machine. It weighs only 6 kg, and can be easily moved. It stands fine on a packing table, but you can save space by mounting it on the wall. Because it takes up so little space, it can be used in most places; in the warehouse, the store’s backroom, etc. It is easy to use and is incredibly efficient if you have a small or medium-sized need. The machine is therefore suitable if you use small amounts of air purge as filling or protection material. The machine produces up to 7.5 metres of air purge per minute and can handle a capacity of up to 300 packs a day. That is equivalent to 2m³ of filling material, which is the equivalent of about 7 seconds of packing chips, and the storage space you save is enormous!

With Mini Pak’R you can choose between 5 different types of film. Each type of film provides different types of air pockets so you can choose the right solution for each product or package. The only thing you need to decide is whether the air pockets are to be used as filling, for padding, dust absorption or locking. Thanks to a perforation in the film, the air pockets are also easy to tear apart.

The Mini Pak’R also has a built-in chip that allows it to automatically find the right settings for the film you’re using. So setting up and operating the machine couldn’t be simpler!

New Air

TheNew Air bubble wrap machine suits larger needs. It is efficient to use and can produce as much as 27 metres of bubble wrap per minute. The compact design means the machine can be easily integrated into any packing line and thanks to the large capacity you don’t have to worry about finding storage space for large rolls of bubble wrap. You simply store the trays as needed.

With one roll of film for the New Air machine, you can produce the equivalent of 6 rolls of normal bubble wrap (1 m x 100 m) and you can choose from 17 different types of film. The New Air machine uses a “Barrier Bubble” technology that holds the air in the bubbles better, which in turn means better protection for your products, no matter how long they are in transit. The set ensures efficient packing processes and optimum use of working time. In short: you’ll be sending more parcels than ever before.

all in all, this is a machine that ensures efficiency, financial savings and a reduction in shipping costs.

Fill-Air Rocket

The Fill-Air Rocket machine is also a good choice for those who pack a large number of shipments. The machine produces up to 9,000 protective air pockets per hour. That’s the equivalent of 30 metres of air pockets per minute! It also has the ability to control the size of the pockets; from small pockets of 2 cm up to 18 cm. You can choose between 6 different pockets and foil in 2 different widths. So this is an incredibly versatile machine! The foil is also perforated which means you can easily tear it apart between pockets, using just the amount of protection you need.

The Fill-Air Rocket is simple to use. Turn it on, put the foil on and it’s ready to use. The Fill-Air foil creates air pockets that are durable, as well as providing stable and lasting protection for your products. This way, customers receive your products in perfect condition, without damage and not to mention without a lot of unnecessary extra clutter that they have to get rid of later.
