It is important to RAJA that our customers can choose environmentally friendly alternatives. That’s why we give our customers the opportunity to make good, green choices in our online store, where we have a wide range of sustainable packaging, including both recycled packaging and degradable packaging.

A sustainable focus is good for business and good for nature at the same time. It provides an opportunity to enhance brand reputation, differentiate positively from competitors in a demanding market and improve the customer experience.

Over the past few years, our range of eco-friendly packaging has grown steadily and below we’ve handpicked some of our favourites to inspire you to green your business. If you’re an online retailer, we’ve also gathered packaging for online stores in one place.

Bubble wrap in kraft paper

This strong bubble wrap is made from recycled paper and is therefore unique. It’s a perfect alternative to bubble wrap made from traditional plastics (such as polythene). Due to its flexible structure, you can use it to package a variety of products. It moulds perfectly around any object and provides the necessary impact protection for fragile products. In addition, the paper is very strong and resistant to tears and moisture.

Packing tape made of paper: Recyclable together with the box

Packing tape is usually a necessary companion when sealing cardboard boxes. Here you have the opportunity to choose paper tape as an environmentally friendly alternative to regular packing tape. Paper tape has a big advantage over synthetic packing tape because it not only has the same properties as regular packing tape, but it can also be recycled together with the cardboard packaging and therefore leaves a minimal environmental footprint.

RAJA’s paper tape is made of silicone-free kraft paper with a natural rubber adhesive. It is available in a standard quality of 57 g/m² for lighter cardboard boxes up to 20 kg, and in a reinforced quality of 70 g/m² for medium-heavy cardboard boxes up to 30 kg.

Packaging filler: Biodegradable packaging

If you often use packing filler in your packaging process, we recommend that you try our Flo-pak® Natural – this is biodegradable packaging that can be composted after use. Flo-pak Natural is an environmentally friendly alternative to the classic packaging chips.

The chips are lightweight and adapt to the contents of the box immediately. This means they don’t just settle at the bottom of the box, providing solid protection. They are five times more anti-static than conventional polystyrene chips, so the biodegradable packaging can be used for everything from ceramics and porcelain to sensitive electronics or heavy spare parts.

Paper: Affordable, biodegradable packaging

It’s not just bubble wrap and packing chips that can protect your products. Paper is also an obvious choice as a packaging filler, and because the flexible material can be customised to fit all types of boxes, it’s a very popular solution. Whether you’re filling voids in a box, creating a shock-absorbing cushion around your product, or simply wrapping it around the contents for good protection, paper is a good and sustainable packaging compared to other types of packaging filler.

Ranpak’s wrapping paper is made from 100% recycled materials and is therefore a biodegradable packaging. It is of course recyclable in itself and can therefore save both the environment and your business resources and money. Ranpak’s biodegradable packaging comes in several paper qualities and must be used in conjunction with a Ranpak machine to optimise your packaging process.

Paper strapping bands

This is an environmentally friendly alternative to plastic cable ties. This innovative variant is manufactured in Europe and consists of 95% kraft paper (the raw material is FSC-certified) and 5% vegetable glue. This makes it the optimal, environmentally friendly and sustainable solution for tightening and bundling lightweight packages and items for short-term indoor storage. The natural tightening tape can be torn by hand and you can use it both manually and mechanically.

Postal packaging: Brown postal boxes

Our versatile postal boxes are robust and provide solid protection for your products. If you’re sending a lot of parcels, these boxes are an obvious alternative to traditional boxes. They can withstand moisture and temperature fluctuations, can carry up to 20kg and have 3 times the usual paper strength on the long side. We have a wide range of sizes, and for the same price you can also find white postal boxes that, in addition to providing good protection, leave an elegant impression on the recipient.

Padded envelopes made of 100% paper

Brown padded envelopes made from 100% paper are the perfect alternative to the classic bubble and foam bags made from plastic. They protect all types of products, such as jewellery, cosmetics, watches, high-tech products and media products.

The paper bubble envelope is resistant to dynamic perforation according to the standard NF Q 03-034 or ISO3036, and to tearing and flat compression according to the standard NF EN ISO 3035.

This makes the bags as strong and protective for your shipments as RAJA foam envelopes or RAJA bubble envelopes. The air is trapped between two sheets of paper and forms a kind of air bubble mattress that protects your goods from damage. Without plastic, the bubble bag is part of a more responsible approach for companies that want to use more paper, recycled or recyclable material in their packaging processes.

Our envelope is recyclable and makes it possible to completely eliminate plastic from mailings. An added bonus is that it adds a positive and aesthetic touch to your shipment. It’s lightweight and reduces the cost of sending products, so you save on postage.

The envelope consists of two layers: an outer layer of 100 g/m² kraft paper and an inner layer of 100 g/m² kraft bubble paper. You can watch our video about this product here.

Palletisation: Inca pallets

Of course, we also offer environmentally friendly solutions for those who ship goods on pallets. Our Inka pallets are environmentally friendly packaging that weigh only half as much as traditional wooden pallets. They are extremely robust and can withstand a load of up to 900kg. The pallets are also resistant to moisture and, thanks to their low weight, they are easy to stack when not in use, saving storage space.

Are you exporting goods? No problem at all! The pallets fulfil ISPM15 requirements and therefore require no special treatment. They are also available as mini pallets.

Inka pallets are an environmentally friendly form of packaging that can withstand loads of up to 900kg.

Eco-friendly stretch film made of paper

This is an innovative, cutting-edge and sustainable solution for pallet wrapping instead of plastic stretch film. This eco stretch film is 100% recyclable, making it easy to dispose of. The stretch film is designed for manual wrapping and can be applied by hand. With a sticky inner layer, this eco-friendly stretch film will adhere and make wrapping the pallet easy. When you’re done, it can be torn off (by hand) and secured with paper tape. Thanks to the stretch film’s tear resistance, you can rest assured that a standard pallet load will remain stable during transport.

Efficient and original packaging filler made from 80% recycled material

Add aesthetic appeal to your packaging with paper strips consisting of three-layer accordion-shaped strips. Your product is neatly presented while being held in place and well protected. The paper strips are ideal for wrapping, protecting and highlighting all fragile or heavy products, such as corporate gifts, toys, china, Christmas baskets and other items that need a personal touch. The paper strips are made from recycled kraft paper and, when used, significantly increase in volume (280%), effectively holding products in place while saving space.
