Four innovations from RAJA for a plastic-free packaging process

RAJA has recently launched four new packaging products for more environmentally friendly shipments. These 100% recyclable alternatives to plastic packaging are ideal for protecting and securing shipments in a sustainable way.

Four environmentally friendly innovations from RAJA

Environmental responsibility is becoming increasingly important for retailers, producers and logistics companies alike, and consumers have increased expectations that shipments are environmentally friendly.

RAJA has worked for many years to offer ever new environmentally friendly packaging solutions, which are made from natural materials, are simple to recycle and reuse, and which give customers good alternatives to plastic. Among this year’s new products are these four environmentally friendly alternatives:

1. Paper stretch film

This stretch film is made from 100% environmentally friendly kraft paper, and is both PEFC certified and recyclable. It can be stretched up to 30% and has glue on the inside for easier attachment to goods. The stretch film fits light and standard pallets with pallet loads of up to 200 kg. It provides good protection for goods during transport and storage, while protecting goods against dirt and dust.

2. Recycled paper bubble wrap

Bubble wrap is made from 100% recycled paper and is an environmentally friendly innovation that protects products during transport and shipping. The unique technology traps air between two layers of paper, giving it excellent shock absorption and protective properties. Bubble wrap is lightweight, which means lower transport costs.

The paper is easy to cut and write on, and is easy to shape around products, making bubble wrap a practical and flexible protective material.

3. Paper strapping

This is an innovative environmentally friendly product produced in Europe from 95% recycled kraft paper and 5% vegetable glue. The product is FSC certified and fully recyclable. Paper strapping is an optimal strapping solution for sealing and bundling of lightweight packages and products for short-term indoor storage. The natural strapping can be torn by hand and can be used both manually and with a strapping machine.

4. Padded paper envelopes

RAJA’s new padded paper envelopes are both protective and cushioning. They consist of one layer of honeycomb structured paper, covered with two layers of recycled kraft paper in 110 g/m² outside and 70 g/m² inside. The paper envelopes are light in weight so that you reduce the shipping cost. For the consumer, the envelopes are innovative and very practical, as they can be recycled in the paper waste without having to remove the padding inside. RAJA’s padded paper envelopes are thus an excellent environmentally friendly alternative to traditional bubble envelopes.
