Black Friday, the date when 50% of Christmas shopping is done


Consumers are taking Christmas shopping earlier and earlier. This is not because we have become so good at planning, but simply because we hope Black Friday will give us the bargains we are looking for.
The annual retail survey for KPMG shows that 57% of Brits who got something on Black Friday, did so deliberately on that date to get juicy discounts.

The week after Black Friday, a challenge for order preparation and logistics

In the week after Black Friday , the volume of parcels to be handled by shippers increases by no less than 68% compared to the week before, as confirmed by data collected in the US by Luxer One. This situation poses a major challenge to those responsible for order processing and distribution: we must work quickly, efficiently and in an organised manner to ensure that products reach the right customer in perfect condition in the shortest possible time.

The importance of packing for Black Friday orders

Ensuring adequate protection for your e-commerce/webstore products so that they are not damaged in transit is important throughout the year. It’s part of the job of making the shopping experience a good one. On Black Friday it takes on a whole new dimension:

  • Christmas shopping is particularly exciting. Several studies carried out in the UK have shown that 8% of products ordered on Black Friday arrive in poor condition. Of these, approximately 30% are so damaged that they are not fit for use. 40% of respondents believe that the fault is due to mishandling by delivery companies. As many as 15% blame poor packaging.
