In this article, we go through 9 common parcel errors that can occur in online stores, and we share some tips to avoid them.

First of all, we encourage you to take the time to pack your products properly for the sake of the customer who will receive them. The customer wants to receive the goods as quickly as possible, and in perfect condition. If you give the customer a good experience also when receiving and opening the shipment, this is an important part of the customer experience that will make the customer continue shopping in your online store.

To ensure a good experience, here is a list of 9 common parcel errors that you should avoid if you want to give customers a good experience

1. Too much use of eskers

Reusing packaging is environmentally friendly, but when boxes are worn or damaged you should recycle them. Reusing worn boxes and covering the damage with tape is not a good idea.

Did you know that worn-out ash can be given a new life as packing material with the help of a cardboard maker?

2. Too much tape

Using extra tape to be on the safe side is also not a good idea. It’s unnecessary and adds costs, but it’s also a bad choice for the environment.

By the way, have you tested paper packaging tape? If you use paper tape, the ashes can be recycled without removing the tape, saving your customers time.

3. Don’t use parcel stuffing

Goods that are loose in the box can be damaged in transit. In addition to waste, this leads to disappointed customers who may not return to your online store.

There are a number of alternatives for parcel filling and protection, both paper and plastic. Please contact RAJA’s customer service for advice on which type of parcel filling is best for your products

4. For large eskers

Why pay to send air? With boxes that are just the right size for your product, you minimise the need for parcel stuffing, while making room for as many boxes as possible at a time with the carrier.

If you need help choosing the right box for your product, we recommend our handy Box Selector tool.

Alternatively, you can choose variable-height boxes, which can be easily adjusted in height to suit the product you need to store.

5. Tear off packing slip

Is the parcel label missing or damaged on arrival at the customer? If you use parcel label pockets that stick to the outside of the box, you ensure that the parcel label arrives intact.

6. Delay due to missing address

Check that you have the correct address information on the label, and that the label is securely attached, to avoid the shipment ending up on the other side of the country.

7. Always use an e-commerce bag

E-commerce bags are reasonable and convenient to send products in, but they are not suitable for all types of products. If you are sending bulk products, you should assess whether e-commerce bags are the right choice or whether esker bags are more suitable

8. Not handling orders with multiple products

Customers who buy many different products in one order expect the products to arrive together. Collect the products in one delivery to avoid creating confusion for the customer.

9. Too poor protection of sharp products

Have you ever chewed on products with sharp edges? If you are sending products that may be crunchy or have sharp edges, be extra careful with good protection. There are a number of good alternatives, such as bubble wrap or kraft paper.

To sum up:

Sørg for god emballasje i passe storlek och i riktig materiale for de produktene du skal sende, med riktig bescherm og god mærking, så kommer produktene frem så raskt som mulig og i god stand.
