Four types of cutter blades tailored to your work
► 1. Breaktex knife
The first type of knife we touch on is what we call the ‘breaking knife’. A breaker knife has a blade that you break off (What’s in a name?) as soon as the tip is blunt. This way, you always have a razor-sharp knife at your disposal. With a snap knife, you have to manually slide the blade into the handle after cutting. Don’t forget this, as a blade that is exposed can be a safety hazard. Another point of note: best not to slide the blade too far and therefore definitely not all the way out when you start cutting.

► 2. Secunorm® safety knife
]Secondly, you have a choice of Secunorm®safety knives – a brand from the manufacturer Martor©. To bring out the blade, push the slider forward with your thumb. As soon as you start cutting, release the slider. After the blade no longer makes contact with the material to be cut, it automatically jumps back into the handle. Because the blade automatically retracts after cutting, safety for the user is guaranteed. This technique significantly reduces the risks of cuts.

► 3. Secupro® safety knife
Showing off at number three in our selection guide are the Secupro® safety knives. In terms of use, they are similar to the previous type (Secunorm®). The blade thus retracts automatically after cutting. With the difference that you may always keep the slider or lever depressed. This type of cutter blade guarantees increased safety as well as convenience. This makes it by far the most versatile safety knife in our range.

The last type of knife in our selection guide is the Secumax®. Maximum safety is its trademark. With this cutter knife, the blade is not exposed. This eliminates the risk of cutting accidents and prevents damage to goods. People often use this type of cutter knife for cutting film, strapping or tape. Like a zip, these closures then slide open effortlessly. For other applications, it is best to use one of the previous safety knives.
