Packaging guide for safe shipping
Do you have a shop that sells glass or ceramic tableware? Not sure how to pack crystal glasses? Do you have an e-commerce business and need to ship plates or glasses? Do you need to ship glasses or other fragile items to someone far away? Are you looking for boxes for glasses? Are you moving house and need to protect your dishes?
This article is dedicated to the proper packing of glasses and plates!
It is important to make sure that you protect your dishes and glasses really securely to avoid the recipient finding an unpleasant surprise. This is even more true when you have an e-commerce business that sells this type of product. We always remind you of the importance of choosing quality packaging, which avoids not only dissatisfaction on the part of the end customer, but also loss of time and the need to reship the product. A return with a damaged product inevitably entails a number of additional costs for you! Find out how to avoid them.
Packaging and boxes for plates and glasses
Glasses are one of the most delicate products to ship and prone to breakage. In particular, goblets and crystal glasses are extremely fragile. Even in the case of plates, as they are particularly delicate and fragile objects, the use of suitable packaging is the only guarantee of safety during transport, avoiding damage or hypothetical breakage of the object.
Choose carefully the packaging in which to send them by following these 4 steps:
- Select the most appropriate box: especially in cases like this, it is essential to opt for a strong and appropriately sized box. We recommend a two-wave box, the best choice for shipping particularly heavy or fragile goods. Stack and measure the contents carefully and add a few cm per side to find the perfect box.
- Choose the type of paper or bubble wrap to wrap and stuff plates and glasses: remember, glasses should be individually wrapped and preferably filled. You can choose to combine them with scratch-resistant tissue paper in the colour of your brand for a WOW effect. As for bubble wrap, we recommend large bubble wrap ideal for fragile products.
- Fill in all the gaps for even better cushioning, especially in the case of stemware (or other special shapes) or crystal glasses. It is indeed very important to prevent glasses from moving and bumping into each other
- Signal that the contents are fragile, especially if the shipment is entrusted to a third party: use paper tape with a fragile print or warning labels with a message.
