Rajapack commits to #SERR2015
The European Week for Waste Reduction (#SERR2015) started on Saturday 21 November.
This year it is dedicated to the theme of DEMATERIALISATION. You can do more with less!
Dematerialise
The consumption cycle of products from production to transport and distribution accounts for 50 per cent of emissions that contribute to climate change. We would like to reverse this trend by increasing the recycling and reuse of products.
First and foremost, we should all consume wisely, using less material, thus reducing waste at source.
At Rajapack in 2015 we are actively working towards dematerialisation.
Compared to previous years, our waste/sales percentage has decreased from 0.55% to 0.34%, as has our waste/purchase percentage from1.1% to 0.79%.
Above all, we can testify that, thanks to new technologies, dematerialisation is possible.
We provide more and more services via the web, while at the same time reducing the number of catalogues sent. In 2015 we will send a total of 802,000, 10% less than in 2014, while increasing sales. We will do the same in 2016, when we expect a reduction in mailings of up to -19%.
Organic alternatives
Dematerialisation does not only mean using fewer or no materials but also providing customers with organic alternatives.
As Rajapack, we offer, for example, bio flo-paks, biodegradable bubble film, recycled bubble bags, biodegradable carrier bags, compostable waste bags. We provide the same level of functionality and protection, using biodegradable materials that have little impact on our environment.
This issue is dear to the heart of the RAJA Group, which is already involved in theWomen & Environment operation in Europe to donate funds for the environment and women, the first victims of climate change.
Every day for every purchase of certain ‘environmentally friendly‘ packaging we donate 1€ or 2€ to non-profit organisations that protect the environment and women through 5 concrete projects.
Rajapack is committed together with you! Each of our small daily gestures can make a difference. And here are concrete tips directly from #SERR2015 to improve our environment.
