Rajapack or RAJA?

3min read 04/09/2019

Both. Rajapack GmbH is part of the RAJA Group and sells its products under the RAJA umbrella brand.

The Group’s pan-European positioning means great market power, and this in turn brings considerable advantages for our customers:

We can offer internationally active companies the same excellent service in all branches and supply you with the same products in the same high quality – Europe-wide! Our strong negotiating position as a group allows us to offer you better prices and to emphasise our high demands towards partners and suppliers, for example in terms of product quality, but also in terms of environmental standards.

The RAJA brand - strong for you

RAJA, the international brand for your company throughout Europe.

The RAJA Group thus unites all European subsidiaries previously known as RAJAPACK now under a single European brand: RAJA.

Danièle Kapel-Marcovici (RAJA Group CEO) is pleased about this step:

With the RAJA brand, we make a promise to our customers regarding our impeccable quality of our products and services, a promise regarding our close customer relationship as well as a promise regarding our commitment to environmental protection and social engagement. Danièle Kapel-Marcovici (RAJA Group CEO)

Experts at your side, nationally and internationally

And we fulfil this promise equally in 21 companies in 18 European countries under a single name: In every country you benefit from the same quality of advice, because our experts are at your side. This is how you find the right solution for your product, your company and your location.

By the way, the name RAJA goes back to the two founders of the company, RachelMarcovici and JanineRocher. In 1954, the two enterprising women sold used cartons, which they could offer much cheaper than new ones. The distribution company “Cartons RAJA” was founded. The company is still family-run today. At the top: Daniéle Kapel-Marcovici, the daughter of one of the founders. More about the story

5 packaging principles at RAJA

Packaging is important to protect products from damage, to ship and deliver them. Without packaging, the number of damaged products would increase dramatically. More products would have to be disposed of and more waste would be generated. The challenge is to package in an environmentally friendly way. What does that mean?

We cannot do without packaging, neither in the past nor today.

In the packaging industry, we have five ways to trade:

  1. Reduce: Keeping the weight and volume of packaging as low as possible can reduce packaging consumption. RAJA advises!
  2. Reuse: Where possible, RAJA offers packaging designed for reuse.
  3. Replace: In order to protect our planet, packaging with a high environmental impact should be replaced with environmentally friendly alternatives.
  4. Regrow: Environmentally friendly packaging made from renewable raw materials helps to reduce our environmental impact.
  5. Recycle: For a functioning circular economy, we need to use and reuse our packaging sustainably.
