Christmas is green. This year, that applies not only to the tree, but especially to what will be underneath it. Consumers have become critical in dealing with unnecessary packaging. Of course, no one wants to give their presents unwrapped. And no one wants to carry fragile goods home unprotected from the retail trade. So what to do?
Geami: One that can do everything
Even though large parts of the Christmas business in online retail are made, the retail trade is also pleased to see full shops in the last days of November and in the weeks immediately before Christmas. Many of the gifts bought there have to be protected from breakage and damage and attractively packaged. This year, customers have become much more sensitive to environmental issues.
So retailers have the task of packaging safely and attractively in an absolutely short time (due to high volumes). We have a packaging solution that meets all these requirements at the same time: The Geami!
Upholstery and surface protection
The Geami WrapPak offers a paper-based alternative to conventional bubble wrap and is an especially environmentally friendly protective packaging. The table machine combines kraft and tissue paper when unwinding. The special feature: the special patented die-cut paper is stretched into a honeycomb structure. The stretched shape allows hundreds of honeycomb-shaped cells to absorb any shocks and thus protect the wrapped product. This is because, as with honeycombs, the honeycomb structure provides a high degree of stability. In addition, the soft white tissue paper protects sensitive products from scratches and minor damage during transport.
Attractive presentation in a carton
By combining tissue paper and kraft paper with a honeycomb structure, Geami WrapPak forms a beautiful presentation option for the wrapped items in addition to its protective function. The flexibility of the material makes it very easy to use and perfect gift wrapping for a variety of products. The paper has a high-quality appearance and conveys sustainability compared to plastic-based cushioning materials. Especially cosmetics, food in jars but also porcelain are perfectly presented this way. Seven different colours of tissue paper give the products that certain something and those who want to give their packaging a very individual touch also have the option of having the tissue paper printed.
There are many possible uses, whether as gift wrapping, as an inlay in the box or as padding protection and “finished gift wrapping”.
One system, several options
The Geami is available in different versions. From the rental machine(Geami WrapPak HV system) to the solution for smaller needs(Geami WrapPak M) to the mini complete solution(Geami WrapPak EX Mini), you have all the options here.
Time and cost savings in packaging
The converter is compact and fits well on a packing station or packing table. In this way, the material can be produced directly on site and as required. In this way, storage space is saved. By pressing the honeycomb structure together, the packaging snags and no further adhesive tape is needed to hold it in place. In addition, packaging material can be saved because 40 rolls of Geami WrapPak (one pallet) are equivalent to 116 rolls of bubble wrap. The following video shows the different wrapping techniques:
