2min read 25/01/2022
The RAJA Group, Europe’s leading retailer of packaging, warehouse and business equipment and office supplies, announces the appointment of Christa Furter as Managing Director of Viking with effect from 24 January 2022.

Christa Furter has many years of management experience in B2B sales and office supplies. She gained this at La Redoute, Officeworld-iba and Udo Bär, a subsidiary of the RAJA Group, among others, where she was Managing Director from 2018 to 2020. Christa Furter succeeds Raffael Reinhold, who has been Managing Director of Viking since 2017.

RAJA Group accelerates its development strategy in Europe

This appointment is the result of the RAJA Group’s acquisition of Viking Europe, which had taken over Office Depot Europe’s wholesale business in seven countries: the UK, Ireland, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, the Netherlands and Belgium. In this context, Christa Furter will be responsible for redefining the sales organisation and all processes necessary for the development and profitable growth of Viking, as she has extensive knowledge of the industry and the group’s business operations. In addition, she will tackle the revision and dynamisation of the product range and marketing approaches. Thanks to her experience in the RAJA Group, she will be able to bring the common values closer to all Viking employees.

I would like to thank Raffael Reinhold for his commitment to Viking over the last five years and for his contribution to the completion of the acquisition. I wish him all the best for his future projects. With Christa, I share the same vision for the development of the company. Her appointment as Managing Director will enable Viking to boost its growth and re-position itself as a leading European player in its field.Danièle Kapel-Marcovici, President and CEO of RAJA Group on the change in Viking's management
