Bluespoon GmbH is an online supplier of high-quality kitchen articles. The company offers its goods mainly on Amazon and via its own shop and packages the products with RAJA.

Packaging for online shipping

As the company only sells online, shipping is of key importance. For 5 years bluespoon has been working with RAJA in the field of packaging. The decision for RAJA was initially made for very pragmatic reasons. The company previously had many smaller suppliers and was looking for a supplier who could offer the complete range of products needed. In the meantime, the company purchases not only cardboard boxes but also all packaging accessories and warehouse equipment from packing tables and filling material to toilet paper and paper towels for the hands. bluespoon particularly appreciates the fact that RAJA is always there to help with special requests. “For example, we sometimes send concrete blocks and they have to be protected at the edges. As far as special solutions are concerned, RAJA is well positioned. ” says bluespoon Managing Director Nikolaj Pecherski.

bluespoon sends out about 600 parcels a day. Now in the 4th quarter it is even up to 1000 parcels and on absolute peak days in the pre-Christmas period even up to 6,000 parcels. The majority of the logistics solution goes to the end customer, but many items are also sent to Amazon. For this, materials for palletising are needed above all. Primarily, single-wall cardboard boxes are used for palletising. The products are additionally secured on the pallet with stretch film and do not pass through so many different hands during shipping, so 1-wall cardboard boxes are sufficient for this purpose.
For individual shipments, bluespoon usually uses 2-corrugated cardboard boxes for larger packages (from approx. 50 cm in length). Products that already have an outer packaging are protected by bluespoon with Bulkraft, this bubble wrap combined with kraft paper offers double protection against shocks during transport. This means that additional outer packaging is no longer necessary.

Inside the carton, FloPak is used for fragile products and paper padding or crumple paper for other items. Especially for sets that are often assembled on site at bluespoon, the company uses paper pads.
