Art stimulates the mind. Art opens a new world to you and strengthens your ability to dream. Art is communication, reflection and feeling.Danièle Kapel-Marcovici
… that’s how Danièle Kapel-Marcovici, owner of the RAJA Group, feels about it. Besides packaging and social commitment, her heart beats for art – most of all, of course, for art with packaging materials.
The RAJA Collection: Art and Packaging
As a passionate contemporary art lover, Danièle Kapel-Marcovici supports talent and promotes contemporary art in all its diversity by acquiring original artworks whose common denominator is the use of packaging materials.
The RAJA Collection now comprises over a hundred of these works, mainly sculptures, paintings, prints and collages, and continues to grow.
The collection, which is housed in the premises of the European headquarters, represents a foundation of shared values – creativity, ingenuity, modernity – for all employees and opens up privileged access to contemporary art.
The Villa Datris
Danièle Kapel-Marcovici’s passion for contemporary art led her and her partner Tristan Fourtine to set up an endowment fund for contemporary sculpture, the Villa Datris, in 2010.
Located near l’Isle-sur-la-Sourgue in the French département of Vaucluse, the Villa Datris, with its old Provençal masonry from the 19th century and its large garden, offers plenty of space for artistic expression and permanent exhibitions with the aim of promoting the work of young emerging talents or internationally recognised artists. In doing so, Danièle Kapel-Marcovici is committed to art and artists and wants to make sculpture accessible to a wider public and promote the various forms of expression.
This creativity carries over into our daily work. We love creative ideas, projects, designs, …
We support art in many forms:
Packaging is sometimes a work of art in itself, if you think of gift packaging, for example.
The entrance to our company building is adorned with a wooden figure sawn especially for us. In the foyer you can take a seat on corrugated cardboard armchairs.
Our corridors are decorated with tape artworks by Dino Maat.
And our mailroom is often embellished by towers of parcels and artfully draped pallet collections 😉
But above all, we regularly report here on our blog about creative uses of packaging materials and/or share craft instructions for e.g. furniture, musical instruments or animal toys.
