Cited as one of the 3 future French champions of mobility by Les Echos, Cocolis is one of the forerunners of collaborative delivery. Interview with its founder, Julien Lardé, who explains to us why this solution is a real value proposition for retail and e-commerce.Hello, Julien Lardé, you founded the company Cocolis in 2015with Eliette Vincent. Can you explain the principle to us simply?Cocolis is a platform that connects drivers and shippers to enable the shipment of objects at a lower cost. Delivery costs are often too high when goods do not go through the Post Office (heavy, bulky, fragile). However, many vehicles are travelling with an empty boot
Everyone wins: some save on their shipping costs, and others make their trips more profitable.
In this way, by creating a community of trust, we have managed to achieve a 98% satisfaction rate for the use of our service, which is far above traditional solutions
secondly, taking advantage of existing journeys rather than creating new ones makes sense from an environmental and social point of view! The system is therefore virtuous, since the person who sends saves money and the person who travels makes his journeys profitable. In retail as in e-commerce, the customer experience is increasingly important. However, for a retailer who trusts you, are there other benefits?
We are generally 40-50% cheaper than a traditional carrier!
yes, the price, because we notice that we are generally 40 to 50% cheaper, which represents big savings for the professionals who send and the private individuals who order. For example, having a medium-sized chest of drawers sent to a private individual’s trunk between Paris and Lille will cost €40 to €50 compared to €130 to €200 with traditional solutionsthere areother emerging players in the private delivery market, what makes Cocolis different from the competition?
We have established ourselves as theleading national player in long-distance transport
many players are positioning themselves on the last mile, but today no one offers a similar solution for long distances, where there is a growing number of requests with the rise of e-commerce and the second-hand market. There is a real sense in sharing costs over long distances rather than short ones. Can you give us some figures about Cocolis and your current situation?
To date, more than 100,000 people have joined Cocolis
we have had an excellent commercial trend for several months and more and more players and retailers are interested in our vision of this market. We have just signed an exclusive partnership with Ouibus, the leading French coach company, which allows us to have excellent national coveragewhere do you see Cocolis in 5 years? We hope to have deployed the solution in Europe and across the Channel where we already have many requests.Thank you Julien for your time
