The best storage solutions
Sometimes you’re tempted to think it’s a curse: whether it’s the warehouse, the archive or the office, space is always in short supply! Products may be lying around with no fixed place and it can seem as if they are living their own lives. It can be a real nightmare when you want to keep everything tidy and organised. So why not get it all in order once and for all, while making the best use of the floor by stacking high. It’s quite easy with handy boxes and bins that are simple in their design and not to mention stackable. It’s just a matter of finding the right product solutions for your business, so you can create order and thus streamline your work processes.
Optimal storage with stackable boxes
What they all have in common is that they are stackable, but beyond that there is a wide range of such boxes in different designs. It therefore makes sense to ask yourself whether you need boxes that can be closed or that should be open, and whether the bottom and sides should be transparent or not. This will help you decide which type of storage box best meets your business needs.
Plastic boxes, for example, are closed all the way round and are often available with a separate lid. They are usually opaque and weatherproof. They protect contents from moisture, sunlight, dirt and dust. Because there are no small openings, any small particles do not disappear. Closed boxes can also be used by all industries where automatic conveyors are used. If it is not important to keep the contents of the boxes away from prying eyes, you can also use transparent universal boxes. Because they are transparent, they can facilitate work in the warehouse or archive, as the contents can be quickly identified.
Whether for storage or shipping, stackable boxes are extremely useful in industry, retail and the office. Everything can be assigned its own space, while saving just that space and achieving an organised overview of your individual parts.
In the following we give you a detailed insight into the different types of boxes and their individual qualities.
Storage boxes
Plasticstorage boxes are an obvious choice for storing documents, small items and space-consuming materials. The advantages are obvious: the boxes provide quick organisation of the products in question, they facilitate the transport of goods and they are also very robust and have a long life in temperature ranges from -20 degrees to +70 degrees. The boxes are also reusable, easy to clean and stackable so they don’t take up unnecessary space when not in use. The multifunctional boxes protect the contents from dust and dirt, and if you choose a transparent plastic model, you can always see which products are in the box. The front-opening models also give you quick and easy access to the contents, so they can also be used as modular boxes. We’ll look at the qualities of modular boxes later in this post.
Euro boxes
There are also boxes whose dimensions are aligned with Euro pallets, and are therefore particularly good for goods logistics. Thanks to their dimensions, stackable euro boxes can be easily stacked on a euro pallet. In this way, all the space on the pallet can be used optimally and the pallet load has a homogeneous appearance. Our grey euro boxes are available in several sizes, with and without side handles, and lids can be purchased.
Pick boxes
Pick boxes are an obvious solution for sorting and organising products by type, colour, size, etc., because products in pick boxes are visible and easy to access. Our pick boxes are available in polypropylene, which can hold up to 25 kg, and in versions made from 75% recycled cardboard, which is an environmentally friendly and more affordable solution.
The latter are also available in compartmentalised versions, which can further facilitate the organisation process.
Modular boxes
Modular boxes are made of plastic and can easily be placed on top of each other. They have an opening at one end, making them ideal for sorting products that you need easy access to – even if the boxes are stacked. They are therefore very space-saving and more robust than cardboard boxes.
There are also dividers for modular boxes, so you can use them for several products at once.
Shelving
Once you have your products sorted and your boxes organised, you can put them on a shelf to keep them together and maximise space savings. Shelving allows you to organise products by category, for example, and of course to stack your picking and storage boxes on sturdy shelves. In short: Storage at height saves floor space! To complete your work, you can write directly on your cardboard picking boxes or apply labels with text so that you have a clear overview of where a particular product is located.
