Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and it’s time to freshen up your wrapping and gift-wrapping so you’re ready. Valentine’s Day is a day to give a loving and personal gift or greeting, whether at home or to your customers.
In this post, we’ve created some easy and simple ideas for a fun and different wrapping that is sure to be remembered when the day is over. There are both things that you can do yourself, but also creative ideas that you can use in your business and webshop.
1. Say it with pictures
Photos can set the mood, they can evoke old memories and fond moments. So why not use them in a creative way in your wrapping? As a business, you can give customers the opportunity to upload a personal photo for the gift wrapping, or you can choose some great photos, with good mood, to represent the perfect Valentine look. For those of you at home wrapping for your loved ones, the sky’s the limit when it comes to creativity.

For this set up we used:
- Kraft paper
- Silk ribbon
- Tape, glue and scissors
2. Wooden houses filled with love
This idea is more for you who are fiddling with a surprise at home. A little crepe house filled with strawberries, chocolates or the person’s favourite goodies is a fun and quirky touch for Valentine’s Day – and you can even tuck in some pretty flowers.

For this set-up we used:
- Kraft paper
- Lace or other creative decorations
- Ribbon
- Glue, scissors and flowers.(Link – Scissors )
3. A romantic scent
Another smart idea is to speak to the senses now that the day is about love. When you’re wrapping your little surprises, give the gift a little familiar scent, with a simple spritz from a good perfume. It’s easy to add to gifts wrapped in tissue paper, for example.

… Remember the tissue paper should be chlorine and acid free and not stain ( Link – tissue paper ).

Another way to add fragrance can be in the form of small scented bags, dried flowers or a small card attached to your gift.
4. A small badge, dried flower or other good…
This idea depends on whether you are at home, in the shop or in the warehouse and need to send the package with a freight company. Flowers are very fragile and don’t withstand rough handling, but a small badge can. It could be a small wooden heart, a bell or something else that suits the company and the packaging.
In the photos below, a small greeting has been added in the form of a sticker, a wooden badge or a flower (dried or fresh). In the shops or at home, it’s easy to get creative with the little tags, but think extra carefully if the parcels are being sent.

For this set-up we used:
- Gift wrap or kraft paper.(Link – Gift wrapping paper)
- Gift ribbon in all shapes.(Link – standard gift ribbon)
- Decorations to your taste.
- Scissors, tape and glue.(Link – Scissors )
5. Combine 2 layers of wrapping paper
When creativity runs wild at home, combine 2 layers of wrapping paper and let one shine through with little creative hearts. It’s good to use 2 contrasting colours for the best effect.
If you’re in the warehouse or shop, there’s probably no time to cut the little hearts, but you can leave that out too. The effect of the two colours from the wrapped to the unwrapped gift is also clever.

For this set-up we used:
- Gift wrap paper, kraft paper or tissue paper – depending on your taste, see the options here
- Scissors, tape
