Checklist – Essential products during the corona pandemic!

3min read 29/01/2021

Social distance, coughing into your sleeve, hosing off, washing your hands etc. … These are all things that have become part of the ‘new normal’ due to the Corona virus – if you are one of those who has to attend and can’t work from home – you deserve to have hygiene and safety in place.

The checklist below gives you an overview of the practical items you can equip your warehouse, workplace or shop with. The list includes items that are essential for your personal protection, social distance and (hand) hygiene.

1. Personal protective equipment

Personal protective equipment is a good place to start. Create a barrier that germs can’t get through – around your mouth, nose and hands to ensure you don’t accidentally infect other people or vice versa.

1. Mouthbind: completely enclose your mouth and nose. People who are not used to wearing a mouth mask should choose a ‘surgical mouth mask’. They are the easiest to use.

Good advice on using a mask:

  • Wash or rinse hands before use.
  • The coloured side is the front of the gag.
  • Put on the gag and pinch the nose.
  • Do not touch the gag during use.
  • Do not use the mouth-guard if it has become wet.
  • Do not touch the mouthpiece itself when taking it off. Use the elastic bands instead.
  • Throw it away immediately after use.
  • Then wash your hands.

2. Disposable gloves: It is best to choose latex or nitrile gloves. Good to know: Powdered latex gloves are the easiest to take off and put on. The disadvantage is that they are often not recommended in the food sector because of the powder coating.

3. Cutm: an acrylic screen (such as Plexiglas®) is recommended when you are working in a fixed location and cannot keep a distance from your colleague or customer. You can place the screen between two desks in a cashier’s office, reception area, etc.

2. Social distancing products

Keeping a distance between each other – is the key concept behind the term ‘social distancing’. We have a few simple tools to facilitate the rule.

4. Barrier tape: use barrier tape to create a barrier or path that you can’t just ignore. This way, your customers will quickly know which areas they can’t access or which route to follow.

5. Floor marking: tape is extremely versatile and can be attached to many surfaces. Stick tape on the floor for example to indicate where someone should wait, how much distance you should keep from each other or which route you should follow. Distance markers for the floor: Flat, round or tape – you can see the range here.

3. Products for your (hand) hygiene

One last measure that we must throw into the fight against viruses is good hand hygiene. Study after study proves that nothing is more effective at eliminating viruses than washing hands with soap and water; and in conjunction with alcohol gel. Below are the final items that complete our checklist against Coronavirus.

6 Soap: Wash them often – wash them when you get home – wash them, wash them, wash them and rinse them off. Dispensers for the two things are also worth remembering: stand for hand sanitizer. Remember that the gel must contain at least 70% ethanol. Dispenser for soap.

7. Disposable towels andpaper: Drying your hands well is just as important as washing them with soap. Even if you wash your hands, viruses can still be harmful in a moist environment.

20. Garbage bags: Remember to use good bin liners. You may throw out used masks, aprons, gloves etc.
