Trust but verify: tilt and humidity indicators!

If you’re sending an important shipment, you’re counting on it, and so is your intended customer, to arrive at its destination without any damage. However, your internal quality control can be no better: negative eventualities that may occur during transit are beyond your control. Once the goods are on their way, there can always be situations that contribute to a reduction in the quality of your delivery: tipping, rough laying and handling, or storage in temperature conditions unfavourable to the goods. So how do you safely secure products during transport?

We know the solution! Use the Tiltwatch tilt indicator. Simply place it directly on the packaging and you will reliably protect the contents. It has perfect adhesiveness on wood, cardboard or plastic and is well tolerant to moisture. In addition, it is also suitable for export. As soon as your product is tilted more than permissible during transport, the sensitive sensor turns red to warn of possible damage during transport, making it easier to claim the goods in the event of deterioration. These tilt indicators are known to domestic and foreign carriers, so safe handling (to avoid claims) of your boxes is guaranteed.

Another useful solution for safe transport is a humidity indicator. This indicator signals when the permissible humidity levels are exceeded. Inside the package you place one of the measuring strips. These are composed of special paper and are impregnated with substances that react to humidity. The paper is then colored in the appropriate box, thereby informing you of the humidity values around the box. As the humidity rises, the paper changes colour from blue to pink. Using the indicator (graduated in 10 percent increments), it is possible to reliably determine whether a critical value has been reached or even exceeded inside the package. There is also an indicator that can ‘remember’ the highest moisture value during the entire transport. The so-called “irreversible” moisture indicator stops at the highest measured level.
