Seals prevent tampering

Although sending a sealed letter is a real rarity nowadays, we still try to protect our private or corporate correspondence, valuable goods or confidential files and documents from unauthorized access, e.g. by using security envelopes.

Seals to signal unauthorised opening

If you seal your shipments(Plumbum means “lead” in Latin), you are not only trying to mechanically seal the packages against opening during transport if the shipment is dropped or moved, but also to prevent attempts to tamper with your cargo. An important function of the seal is also to ensure that no one other than the sender and addressee can see the contents of the package.

Technically speaking, a metal wire with a diameter of approximately one millimetre does not pose much of a challenge against unauthorised opening, but thanks to the security features contained in the seals it guarantees perfect identification in the event of unauthorised access. These seals contain a uniquely stamped serial number consisting of 7 digits which cannot be easily replaced or reused. As a result, if opened by another person, you will be immediately informed of this unauthorised act.

We recommend the use of security seals for maximum protection and security of containers when exporting with a high risk of theft. These container locks are made of solid steel and are encased in ABS plastic with corrosion and weather protection. Due to the durable material, the seal can only be tampered with using special lever pliers. The seals also have an embossed safety serial number of 2 letters and 7 digits on both parts: on the mandrel and on the sleeve.

Standard seals

If you only wish to mechanically seal your shipments during forwarding without any security or signalling element, you can use standard adhesives, twine or other means for tying, closing packages.
