Protection against static charge

Where is the best storm protection? Under a tree, in the open? Hopefully, your choice will fall on a car! Because that’s where you’re best protected from a lightning strike. The so-called “Faraday cage” – the idea of the English physicist Michael Faraday – will take care of your protection. The principle is to isolate the electrostatic field. In a completely enclosed box made of a lightly conductive material such as sheet metal, no electrical voltage arises. The charge is conducted along its surface.

You can now offer similar security to your shipments that are sensitive to electromagnetic fields, which can be generated, for example, by friction or handling during transport. Simply use one of RAJAPACK’s anti-static packaging solutions. Highshield metallic bags with a metallic outer layer go one step further: they feature several layers of anti-static protection. The outer lacquer layer acts as a lightning rod, underneath there is a polyester carrier, then an aluminium-metal layer, another polyester carrier and the last part is the inner lacquer for the dissipation of electrical voltage. This creates a true Faraday cage that protects your products from static charge. In addition, these bags are extremely impact and tear resistant – with a resistance of E<15njoules. As an optimal accessory, anti-static labels are recommended, which draw attention to electrostatically sensitive products in the packages, thanks to the printed ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) seal.
