This result is very much appreciated and what’s more: we are constantly improving our offer in this area. Currently, we offer boxes in 600 different sizes and designs: in a wide range of sizes, shapes, variants and load capacities. But even the best boxes will one day run out of life and you will start to wonder: “Where to go with it?”

That’s where recycling comes in. Shredders. In the following text we will introduce you to one of our manufacturers and how they have dealt with this difficult task.

The extremely practical machines transform old cardboard into high-value filling material in no time. The overall result is a reduction in the company’s expenditure on the purchase of additional packaging material and a reduction in waste disposal costs.

The actual handling of this device, which recycles unwanted cartons into useful box filler in no time, is very easy. Used cartonboard is simply inserted into the inlet of the shredder, where it is then pulled by foot rollers further into the machine’s bowels and processed into a “paper mat” with an airy loop structure. During the process, the corrugated board is not only perforated, but also shaped and cut to the desired width thanks to special cutting waves. The result is a versatile filling material that protects your products from damage during transport and storage.

Benefits of the box shredder

One of the most important quality features of the machine is the cutting mechanism. HSM has equipped its ProfiPack with a high-quality, maintenance-free wave blade of its own production. The shredder blade is made of one induction hardened piece of steel. It is characterised by its long service life and can easily handle metal staples and adhesive tapes. The cylindrical blades are driven by a generously sized electric motor with an output of 1.15 kW and 4.0 kW respectively, which allows a carton passage speed of up to 12 m per minute. Depending on the performance variant of the selected model, the machine processes up to three layers of corrugated board at a time. The maximum width of the carton is approximately 4.15 and 4.25 cm respectively.
