- labels with hazard symbols
- warning labels.
Labels with hazard symbols:
Toxic gas
As the picture suggests, this is the transport of gases or substances that can be very dangerous to health.
Flammable gas
This label indicates the carriage of a flammable substance that may explode. The substance may be non-toxic but dangerous due to burns. An example would be oxygen.
Flammable liquid
Along with flammable gas, they can also pose a fire hazard, whether near heat or in contact with air. An example of a flammable liquid is petrol.
Flammable solid
Conspicuous stripes across the label indicate substances that can burn or ignite.
Environmentally hazardous
These labels warn of substances that are hazardous to the environment.
Corrosive substances
These labels warn of substances that are gaseous, liquid or solid. These are usually substances that can burn or dissolve various materials. Such corrosive substances are also dangerous for skin contact. An example is potassium hydroxide, more commonly found in fertilizers.
Various
This is an opportunity to individually fill in and mark your products. These are hazard warnings that can be further specified using custom symbols.
Warning labels
This category includes labels that warn about how to properly handle the package. There are several types of labels:
Fragile
These labels come in a variety of styles and are an essential sign that the goods should be handled with care as the contents may deteriorate.
Handle with care
This label indicates that care should be taken when handling.
These labels may include additional signs indicating “do not stack”, “this side up”, etc.
Anti-static labels
One hazard that has become increasingly important in modern times is static. Electronic products – especially computers and telephones, although “computers” now appear in all kinds of equipment, even washing machines.
The labels ‘electrostatically sensitive equipment’ are used to ensure that packaging containing such goods is protected from electrostatic and magnetic interference.
Tilt indicators
The last group of warning labels are indicators. These labels indicate whether the package has been held in the correct direction. When the indicator turns red, it means that the package has been tilted more than 90° and may have damaged the goods.
