New on the market for shelving: the iXtab system

The logistics company iX-tech has come up with an intriguing idea that represents an ease of work for experienced professionals and complete beginners alike. The new iXtab with its simple operator interface will streamline all the steps in order picking. With its help, you can call up your order – product by product – on the colour touchscreen. Operation is easy, intuitive and the display can even be operated with gloves on. The system is therefore suitable for any shelf operation. And the time required for training? One to two minutes! In addition to the product photo, the display also shows the exact product description, the storage location and the number of pieces to be picked up. If you attach the iXtab to a storage cart, you have both hands free for other activities. The notepads and pencils you have been using become redundant. iXtab also has an “error reporting function”. This allows warehouse staff to send a report to warehouse management (such as “goods not in stock” or “faulty goods”) with two clicks on the screen. The warehouse manager is thus immediately informed when a problem arises and can react directly. This optimization not only saves time but also costs.

In conjunction with the “SCAN2LIGHT” function, iXtab is clearly unbeatable:

LED lights for shelving indicate the position of individual products in an order. The stock location of each item in the order is indicated by a coloured dot. It effectively shows the picker the so-called “ideal path” through the warehouse aisles from the nearest to the farthest product that is in the respective order. The profile with LED lights measures only 18 mm and can be attached to any shelving system. This enables fast and error-free processing of every order. After confirming the removal of an item, e.g. by scanning it, pressing the confirmation key on a mobile device or via another method such as “pick by voice” or thanks to the novelty of iXtab, the next product location is lit up! The order is thus processed product by product, individually illuminated shelves allow warehouse staff to visually register the next place to go and pick up the goods in less than one second. Thanks to the wide range of colours, other people can also work with the system, as each worker can choose their own colour to signal their relevant products on the shelves. With a simple “follow the light” instruction, even temporary workers can pick goods in a matter of minutes with similar efficiency as their colleagues with years of experience.
