Honeycomb party balls – make it yourself!

1min read 21/11/2016

Are you struggling with party decorations? How about trying honeycomb party balls that you can hang over your guests’ heads. Where can you buy them? Don’t be silly! Making them is very easy, you just need to know how to do it. Your guests will appreciate it when you tell them you’ve managed to make them all by yourself!

What do you need?

Tools: A4 paper, harder white backing paper (e.g. 20×20 cm), tissue paper (squares – e.g. 20×20 cm), scissors, glue (can be in a stick), ruler, pen or marker, string.

Take the white paper and shape it into a circle. Trace this circle on A4 paper to make a template. Draw the corners of the squares on the template and 5 vertical lines to divide the circle into approximately equal fifths (the middle line is in the middle of the circle). Label the lines A, B, A, B, B, A.

party_koulePlace the first colored piece of paper in the Template and use glue around the A lines. Then add another piece of paper to this paper and glue around the B lines. And keep doing this until you have glued all the papers. Finally, glue on the white circle. Divide it in half and cut off the overhanging parts. Glue the two half circles together, attach the string and open into a fan. Fasten the ball.

Detailed instructions can be found in the attached video. So what? Can you do it? I’m going to try it now.
