3min read 20/03/2025

Easter is a time of joy, creating and sharing love with family. In this article, we bring you 3 simple and fun tips for Easter decorations that you can easily create with your children as a spring decoration for your house or as a gift for your loved ones.

1. Cheerful Easter eggs made of crepe paper

This decoration is perfect for kids, but adults will have a lot of fun with it too. You’ll make colourful, vibrant eggs that are great as table decorations or as part of a larger Easter decoration.

What you’ll need:

  • A white plastic or wooden egg (or use eggshells)
  • Crepe paper in different colors
  • Glue (ideally hot melt)
  • Scissors

Procedure:

  1. Prepare the crepe paper – cut the crepe paper into small squares or strips.
  2. To make eggs – use hot glue to stick small pieces of crepe paper onto the egg. You can create different patterns or simply wrap the whole egg with coloured pieces.
  3. Decorate the eggs – if you like, add details like feathers, small bows or gold paint to give the eggs an elegant look.

Tip: Hang these crepe eggs on a twig in a vase or place them around the table as part of an Easter arrangement.

2. An Easter wreath for the door made of natural materials

If you love natural decorations, this wreath will be perfect for you. You can create it with natural materials that you can easily find outdoors, and it will make an original and stylish decoration for the Easter holidays.

What to doyou will need:

  • Wreath base (circle of wool, wicker or cardboard)
  • Natural twigs, mosses, flowers, pine cones, dried grasses
  • Easter motifs (e.g. mini eggs, small bunny, feathers)
  • Glue on natural materials
  • Ribbons or raffia

Procedure:

  1. Create the base of the wreath – If you have a cardboard base, wrap it with twigs or raffia. Add flowers or grasses to bring a spring feel.
  2. Decorating the wreath – Attach small Easter motifs such as small eggs, dried flowers or bunnies to the wreath. Use colourful ribbons or bows to brighten it up.
  3. Hanging the wreath – Hang the wreath on a door or window. If you have windows on your balcony, the wreath will be beautifully visible from the outside.

Tip: Use natural colours and materials to make the wreath look as natural as possible, or pastel colours for a soft spring look.

3. Spring flowers in decorative paper pots

This decoration is perfect for those who like to decorate their home with flowers but don’t like the hassle of watering them. Artificial flowers made of decorative paper are permanent and bring a fresh spring atmosphere to the interior.

What you’ll need:

  • Decorative paper (preferably colored or with floral patterns)
  • Small flower pots
  • Wooden sticks (or wire to make stems)
  • Scissors and glue
  • Small plastic flowers or seeds to decorate the pots

Procedure:

  1. Making flowers – Cut out flower petals from decorative paper. Make different shapes of flowers, for example tulips or daffodils. Then attach them to wooden sticks or wires.
  2. Decorate the pots – Wrap the pots with paper and decorate with ribbon or floral designs. Add decorative rhinestones or artificial flowers to the pots to hold everything together.
  3. Create a spring atmosphere – Place these flowers on a table or windowsill to create a spring mood throughout the interior.
