Tissue paper flowers
There is nothing more traditional and elegant than filling the ceremony and the celebration with flowers. However, the high price of flowers makes us consider creating colourful flowers with tissue paper to fill all the corners with a handmade touch and full of vitality, with the combination of colours that we choose. If you do not know how to make them, we explain it to you in four simple steps
- Place seven sheets of tissue paper in your chosen colour on top of each other and fold them like an accordion.
- Once you have a thin, rectangular strip, round off the edges with a pair of scissors.
- Use a long white or transparent thread and tie the strip in half, leaving enough length at the ends to hang the flowers.
- Finally, open the silk petals one by one, they are fragile so be careful.
Luck by tradition
The ethereal appearance of the organdie bags makes them perfect to fulfil one of the most spiritual traditions of wedding gifts: the peladillas. These chocolate and sugar coated almonds originated in Ancient Greece and have managed to perpetuate in Western tradition. According to the custom, five peladillas should be included in each bag, one for each wish that the celebration is intended to convey: fertility, longevity, health, money and, most importantly, happiness. From the moment each guest ate their peladillas they began to be part of the couple’s wish
The wedding survival kit
One of the nicest details you can have with your guests is to give them personalised bags with everything they need to enjoy the wedding. You can include the rice basket, wet wipes, water, a fan if you are getting married in summer, directions to the bus or the banquet, a souvenir… The idea is to create a practical kit in which they have everything they need so that they can enjoy the celebration as much as the bride and groom
The wedding gifts
in addition to the sugared almonds, it is customary at all weddings to give a gift to the guests. Although traditionally a Havana cigar was given to the men and a soap or similar to the woman, the machismo of this tradition has meant that nowadays they prefer to give other details that do not take gender into account. One of the latest trends is to give a cactus wrapped in kraft paper, symbolising the strength of the marriage and its ability to overcome adverse conditionsanother common gift is small bottles of wine or liquor with personalised labels about the celebration
The final detail
leave a pen, lots of post-its and make a mural with kraft paper with the wishes and dedications of the guests. We can’t guarantee that the post-its won’t end up wrapping your car, but we assure you that it will be a unique souvenir of an unforgettable day.
