RAJA® participates in the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women

On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women on 25 November, the RAJA-Danièle Marcovici Foundation has organised a Europe-wide action across the RAJA Group against violence against women, called Operation Pedometer.
This Operation Pedometer starts today Monday 18th and ends on Monday 25th November 2019 and, if we reach the target… we will donate up to 30.000€ to be invested against violence against women!
how does the operation work?
Throughout the week, all RAJA Group employees will be equipped with pedometers that will allow us to count the steps taken during our working day.
what is the aim of Operation Pedometer?
The objective is to take as many steps as possible in one week throughout the RAJA Group. 21 companies in 18 countries are involved in this action to support the associations chosen in each subsidiary that fight against gender violence.
If we reach the target of 30 million steps across the Group, €30,000 will be donated to associations offering help to women victims of domestic violence in Europe:
- 15.000 to 1 association in France
- 15.000 to 14 associations in Europe, chosen by each RAJA® subsidiary.
who do we support in the Spanish RAJA® branch?
In Spain we will support the association HÈLIA, a non-profit association, made up of volunteers and professionals who offer support to women affected by male violence.
In this association, they help women until they fully repair and recover from the evil they have suffered. They help them with their basic needs, working in a network and generating projects for intervention and improvement in the lives of these women. It offers a space for comprehensive and individualised attention to women who are living or have lived through situations of male violence.
how does Operation Pedometer work?
The pedometers will be distributed this week to all RAJA® employees. The steps will be counted from Monday 18 to 25 November during the working day, including the lunch break.
All staff have been told to use the stairs more than ever, to communicate with each other without using the phone and we have organised walks after lunch!

By the end of June 2019, we have raised 1.4 million eruos and promoted 40 solidarity projects and helped more than 8,000 women!
