► Step 4: How do I prepare my pallet for export?
In the case of a large quantity shipment, it is likely that you will opt for a pallet. In this case, you should consider the following points
- Packages cannot be placed on the edge of the pallet.
- Put the smallest parcels at the bottom, and the largest at the top.
- Protect your stacked parcels with spacers, corner protectors, protective profiles and pallet caps.
- Make sure you use ISPM15-compliant wooden pallets; moulded, cardboard and plastic pallets do not require any treatment for export.
- Wrap your pallets with stretch film.
- Strap your individual packages with polypropylene or steel strapping.

► Step 5: How to choose the right labels?
Your parcel or pallet is ready to be shipped, there is only one thing missing: the identification! Always make sure that the destination and contents are clearly indicated on your export packaging. A very practical solution is to use an export pouch with a repositionable closure. You can easily insert your shipping documents into it. A repositionable tab allows you to consult them without damaging the pouch.
To make sure that your products arrive at their destination in good condition, you can also think about sticking security indicators or shipping labels on the outside of the parcel or pallet. You can choose from
- shock indicators
- temperature indicators(hot or cold)
- tipping indicators
- warning labels for hazardous materials
- shipping labels – precautions for use
- security adhesives and labels: a tamper-evident message appears when peeled off.
