With the Christmas holidays just around the corner, we bring you hints and tips on how to wrap presents efficiently, environmentally friendly and aesthetically pleasing at the same time. Boxes are the decorative packaging in which gifts are most elegantly presented, especially if the box is customised to the specific gift. What can be wrapped in gift boxes? What other types of packaging are worth using?
The choice of decorative packaging is really wide, so you don’t have to limit yourself to wrapping all your gifts in decorative paper bags. There are other options available. Here is an overview of the types of gift wrap and how to use them.
Types of decorative cardboard packaging
The following types of decorative packaging are available at RAJA:
- paper decorative bags
- bags with individual printing

Decorative packaging accessories
It is important to remember that the gift and packaging alone are not everything. The use of various accessories for decorating gifts is also very important for the perfect effect. Such accessories are also available from RAJA. And these include such accessories as decorative ribbons and ribbons, bows, tags and labels. A decorative box wrapped with ribbon or tape looks even better. Sometimes it’s also a good idea to use decorative filler to wrap a gift or put it in a box – for example, if the gift is delicate and fragile or if it simply wants to look nice. Then it’s a good idea to use tissue paper or eco-friendly SizzlePak decorative filler.
Using individual gift boxes
Decorative boxes have a wide range of uses. They can be used to wrap both smaller and larger gifts, with the size matching the contents. Gift boxes are versatile and come in handy in many situations. Their advantage is that they can be used later as storage boxes and also as containers for decorative presentation of products, e.g. in a shop. Decorative boxes come in many sizes, shapes and colours. You can choose one that fits the occasion.
A special type of cardboard boxes are bottle boxes. As the name suggests, they are used to elegantly package wine as well as other spirits and beverages in glass bottles. There are also special packaging for beer, including tasting packs. It is better to give an alcoholic gift wrapped in a decorative box than in a plain bag.
Paper gift bags are still the most popular because they are versatile – virtually any gift can be wrapped in them (they are also available in large sizes), they are cheaper than gift boxes and, what’s more, the gift can be wrapped in one motion. At the same time, they look elegant. The bags are available plain, glossy, patterned, with a window, etc.
Corporate or business gifts can be wrapped in printed gift bags. It is another way of advertising plus the recipient will know from which supplier or business partner the gift was received. Such bags can also be used in online shops to wrap products as gifts – in many shops the buyer can choose this option.
Small items such as jewellery or accessories can be wrapped in elegant organza bags, for example. The recipient can store the gift in them or use them for something else.
Decorative paper is also used quite often – maybe not as often as bags, but commonly, especially for wrapping gifts of regular shapes (e.g. books, cosmetic sets and all items that are packaged in manufacturer’s boxes). The paper may be plain or patterned.
Clear or coloured cellophane film can be used to wrap gifts that look nice (e.g. cosmetics, delicatessen, sweets, teas, coffee, etc.).
On the other hand, tissue paper can be used for fragile and lightweight items. It is often used for wrapping clothes, underwear and accessories.
If the gift is to be visible despite the packaging, decorative plastic bags are used.
The choice of decorative packaging is really large and choosing the right one depends on a person’s preferences, but also on the type of gift, its shape, size and weight, as well as the occasion on which the gift is to be given. You can find all these decorative wrappings and much more, as well as all other packaging materials in the RAJA shop.
So what suits you and what method of gift wrapping do you choose?
