Tips for simple but creative gift wrapping for Valentine’s day

4min read 30/01/2023

Valentine’s Day is approaching and it’s time to make sure you have all the packaging and gift wrapping you need for the big day. Valentine’s Day is a great opportunity to give someone a personal gift or greeting, either your loved ones at home or your customers.

Here you will find RAJA’s selection of gift wrapping

Below we have some suggestions for simple but different wrapping that will surely be remembered when the day is over. Some you can use at home, while others you can use in your business and online store.

1. Say it with pictures

Photos can set the mood, they can bring back old memories and pleasant moments. So why not use them in a creative way in your packaging? As a business, you can give your customers the opportunity to upload a personal photo for your gift wrapping, or you can choose some great photos with a good mood to give the perfect Valentine’s look. And if you’re at home wrapping gifts for your loved one, the sky’s the limit.

In this example, we’ve used:

2. Cream pots filled with love

This idea is mostly for those planning a surprise at home. A little cream puff filled with strawberries, chocolates or your favourite candy is a fun Valentine’s Day touch – and you can even tuck in some pretty flowers.

You’ll need:

3. A romantic scent – also for gift wrapping

Another great idea is to use more senses on this romantic day. When you’re wrapping the surprise, you can give the gift a familiar and pleasant scent by spraying it with a good perfume. This is easy to use with gifts that are wrapped in tissue paper, for example.

Remember to choose tissue paper that is chlorine and acid-free and does not stain.

Another way to add fragrance can be in the form of small scented sachets, dried flowers or a small card inside the gift.

4. A small tag, a dried flower or something else nice

This idea depends on whether you are at home, in the shop or in the warehouse and will send the package with a shipping company. Flowers are fragile and don’t stand up to rough handling, but a small tag or badge can work well. It could be a small wooden heart, a clock or anything else that suits your company and the packaging. In the images below, a small greeting has been added in the form of a sticker, a wooden badge or a flower (dried or fresh). In shops and at home, it’s easy to get creative with these little additions, but think carefully if you’re sending the packages.

Here’s what you’ll need:

5. Combine two layers of wrapping paper

If you’re feeling extra creative, combine two layers of wrapping paper and let one of them shine through with little hearts. It’s best to use two contrasting colours for the best effect.

If you’re in the warehouse or shop and don’t have time to cut out hearts, don’t bother. Paper in two colours will still make a great effect.

Here you can use:

  • Gift wrap, kraft paper or tissue paper – the choice is yours, see the options here
  • Scissors, tape
