For some years now, we have seen the term 'packaging' start to take on a broader connotation. Besides the basic idea of 'packaging' and 'protecting', packaging has become a branding tool to give visibility to a product and brand. Consequently, there is increasing demand for printed boxes or bags. It also poses a challenge to reduce logistics costs. An e-commerce company needs to get the ordered products to the end customer as quickly as possible in packaging that is best suited to the product. With more than 20 years of experience in the packaging world, RAJA has all the expertise to come up with the right solutions for any business.

The growth in the e-commerce sector has brought a lot of challenges. When it comes to logistics and packaging, you must always ensure that your products get from point A to point B smoothly and well protected. During Webwinkel Vakdagen, you will be introduced to some specific e-commerce packaging:
► 1. Food and drink
Nowadays, all kinds of products can be ordered online, including food and drink of course. If you want to ship your food cool, consider an isothermal box or bag. This way, your perishable products are better protected against sudden temperature fluctuations! Is your webshop active in the wine sector? Then it is best to ship your bottles in a suitable wine box and don’t let shards bring you bad luck.
► 2. Books and electronics
Shipping a book by the book? You do that easily with a customised book packaging. Without the need for any additional protective material, they close nicely around your book, protecting its edges from bumps. This impact protection also comes in handy when sending electronics. E-books, tablets, smartphones, etc. With such a customised box, they all reach their final destination safely.
► 3. Clothing
Consumers like to have the freedom to try out products and return them afterwards. Especially for webshops offering clothes, this is an important factor in the sales process. If something doesn’t fit, you want to send it back, right? Boxes with return closure come in very handy then! These boxes have two closing strips: a first strip your packer uses to close the box, and a second one the customer uses if he wants to return the box. As a result, your customer does not waste time looking for a suitable box and you are assured that your products get back to you in good condition.
► 4. Packaging with variable filling height
This type of box is perfectly adaptable to its contents. A variable fill height has two major advantages. First, you need to stock fewer sizes of boxes and therefore provide less storage space in your warehouse. Secondly, you need to put less filling material in the box itself because you adjust the height of the box. So that saves a lot of money in terms of protective material. Good for your wallet but also for the environment, because more efficient packaging material means a lower ecological footprint.
► 5. Packages with automatic bottom
Another solution that will save you a lot of time is an auto-bottom or autolock box. By pressing against the sides of the box, it automatically folds into the right shape. At a packing station, this will save you a lot of time. Our packaging specialists put it to the test themselves in the video below. In just a few seconds, the job was done and the box was ready for dispatch!
